Clear Selected Clip doesn't work.. help?
I've got my layout so a button on my MIDI controller is set to "stop recording" selected clip when pressed.
It's not set to toggle recording stop/start, just stop it.
I have "long press" on this same button set to "clear selected clip" but it doesn't clear the clip - it just stops it, no matter how long I hold the button for.
Wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
FWIW this is all I want this button to do - maybe there's a better way to do this:
Press - stop recording selected clip if recording (and DON'T start playing!), if NOT recording, just STOP playing.
Hold/long press - clear selected clip.
Basically this button is a way for me to stop recording something I'm not sold on live, so that it doesn't start playing back - pretty much a "RETREAT!" button
The reason I want it to NOT start recording when I press it WHILE recording, is so because of this "retreat" nature - I will press the RECORD button again when I want what I've been recording to end and actually play.
Any help would be great.

As a quick test, what happens if you have each action in a widget? Do this work ?
It might be a good idea to send the midi controller button to a midi monitor to be sure that you're really getting a long-press when you think you are.
It's also pretty common to find conflicting mappings or actions. They can lurk in clip follow actions, color follow actions, global vs. project profiles, and widgets.
That works perfectly, awesome.
My assumption is it's because of how the other button is set - to "press".. ie when you MIDI learn.. so maybe it's not recognising that there is a "hold" when I long-press/hold the button.
But yep, this works great now.
You can override that manually. (That is, of course if the button is actually sending on when you press it and off on release. Some buttons are momentary, on followed by off when pressed. That is rare, but is worth checking with a midi monitor.)
@greatestlengths : I just set up a button so that press stops recording and long-press clears and it works.
Can you post screenshots of your actions ? Make sure clear is set to clear if recording. By default, it is is set to Stop if recording.
Please post screenshots of the widget actions or bindings. As I mentioned I can have tap be stop recording and long press be clear and have it work. If we could see how you have tho gs set up it would help understand why it isn’t working for you.
