Uploaded a track for the first time in years
Probably doesn't count as a "finished" track but I'm rolling with it . Produced in Logic Pro for iPad, with Toneboosters Lowtone featuring prominently. Pads are courtesy of Nambu. Drums are mostly the built-in "Micro Modular" kit in Logic.

Yikes, how do I embed a link without my ugly mug filling the screen?
I quite like the song. There's a lot of interesting structure. The futuristic theme did it for me. Fantastic work, keep them coming. 🤩
This is really great! Reminds me of early Paul Van Dyk for some reason.
This is good. Congrats on the upload! Would love to see more
Beautifully layered through time. Nice work!
P.S. Fellow Coloradan here.
Love the chord progression! The sounds remind me of Autechre a little. Nice work
Thanks @Luxthor @jwmmakerofmusic @Tristan and @reezygle for the kind words! I'll gratefully accept a comparison to Paul Van Dyk. I'm working out a few other ideas in the style of what I'm calling "Acid Garage"; hopefully I can post more soon
I've said it in other threads; Logic has kind of "clicked" for me. I love being able to work out ideas in Live Loops and then record a loops session to the timeline to get a rough sketch of the arrangement.
Thanks!
I'd love to hear more about how you start your ideas in Live Loops. I tried to do this as I like to work in Bitwigs session view, but I just couldn't get it right.
Well, mainly I just start out with a pattern cell and a drum track and lay down a beat, and add 2-3 more instruments until I have something interesting in the first "scene", like a baseline and a pad. At that point I'll either start a new scene or copy-paste to the next scene over to create variations on the first scene. This is all really loose and unstructured. When I get to 3-5 scenes I'll start to think about "what sounds like a verse", "what sounds like a bridge" etc. and maybe rearrange scenes so I have something coherent moving left to right. At that point I might go back and start adding more tracks as the idea takes shape (this is when I might add a sub-bass or other "supporting" tracks, if you like). And I play around in Live Loops until I start to like the flow of how I transition from one scene to the next.
At that point, I'll try recording a Live Loops session to the timeline to stub out a basic arrangement. If it goes well and I'm reasonably happy with it, I'll switch over to timeline view and work continues there with mixing, adding effects, and fine-tuning the arrangement (the track I posted above was a longer until I trimmed out several bars to tighten it up). For this track, I then added tracks for cymbal hits and risers, and when I was happy enough with the result I ran it through grand finale 2 on the stereo out track and bounced it to an m4a (actually, I exported it to m4a a few times during the process so I could e.g. hear how things were sounding on laptop speakers, on my truck's shitty stereo system, etc).
That's about it. I'm usually monkeying around with the Live Loops for some number of weeks before I move to timeline, and then playing on the timeline for some number of weeks after that. I work slow! But, I'm giving myself room to bounce between projects when I feel like I'm getting bored or frustrated with a track, and then come back to it.
I feel like this track could use more lead/solo sounds and probably more work on the risers and "FX" type sounds, but it's on Soundcloud now so I'm going to put a pin in it and see if I can wrestle something else into an arrangement.
Has a really nice groove
Thanks! I’m trying to develop a feel for putting just the right amount of swing on a drumbeat.
Good stuff mate 🎊
I love Lowtone but I don’t see it talked about much. It’s one of the best bass synths on iOS. Coincidentally Nambu can also do some hard hitting basses.
Great electronic vibe, well thought out sounds! Wanna hear more like this!

Thanks!
Lowtone is an underappreciated gem IMO. Super tweakable, nice VCN, and the gate effect is fun and easy.
Thanks!
Agreed 👍🏻 and it sounds fantastic.

I’ve no idea about genres, acid, garage , whatever but I enjoyed it. Nice production 👍
