The Fewest Steps To Stand Alone - SALOME thread offshoot

So, what auv3 host goes the fastest and in fewest steps, from double tap, to essentially a standalone auv3?

If you load it up into AUM and save Salome as a template, in the future you can simply just open AUM, open that template, and you’re good to go.

Probably the fastest all around would be AUM.

    For an instrument:

    • open AUM
    • Press + sign, then audio channel
    • Swipe down for search box
    • Type a few letters of the name to find it
    • Add the plugin and open it
    • Open the routing matrix to connect any external hardware if needed.

Should take no more than 15 seconds.

    Audiobus is similar setup time.

Either with a saved session is even faster.

Precisely this. I probably should’ve expanded so thanks for that.

  • If recording into an app such as Salome then of course you need to add it as an FX instead, and add a plugin or audio source to feed it. From scratch …. maybe 30 seconds tops.

But if you save the project as "_Salome" it will be a 5 click action to open, with Mic armed etc.

You can even save that project file to the file system and then, in the Shortcuts app, create one that opens that file. You can then add that shortcut to your home screen.

Drambo is dammed fast to set up as well now that I think about it. Just open to an empty project*, hit the plus button, type a few letters in the search box, and add the plugin. In most cases it will already be hooked up as needed.

That’s my new pick for fastest setup from scratch without a saved session.

( * opening to a fresh project is an optional setting.)

Wow yeah you’re right. I sometimes forget how quick and useful the shortcuts feature is. I’ve seen some videos online of people using it in some really creative ways.

That sounds like a good option. I'll have to look into that method. Thanks.

Damn, that’s a great use case. Have promptly done this. 👍

Indeed. Fully ignored the Shortcuts app but I like the sound of that. Should work for AUM and Loopy Pro too, but perhaps not Logic because of the auto-saving
