Your "standard" FX rack

Do you have a "standard" rack or set of FX that you use on just about every song or project? Also for those who play live or jam, what FX do you use for default setup?

(Feel free to post pics too).

I'm working on building mine on the iOS side of things so I'm still in the early stages, but thus far it looks something like this:

Eventide Undulator
Eventide Crystals

FabFilter Timeless 2
FabFilter Saturn 2

EOS 2 Reverb

NuRack for X/Y filters

Comments

  • Not really, except for mastering. It goes like this...

RX950 (sometimes), MagicDeathEyeStereo, Reelbus, Barricade. That's my mastering chain. :)

  • I don’t have a standard set of effects, either, but I do have some that tend to get used a lot. The selection does change over time, but at present it’s quite rare for one of my projects to not include Blackhole and/or Other Desert Cities. ODC in particular covers a lot of bases. Rymdigare gets a lot of use, too, as does Gauss (I use it as a really long delay line a lot).

As a reasonably heavy MiRack user, the Valley Plateau reverb gets a great deal of use, too.

  • GarageBand doesn't have a lot of FX slots, but I'll generally use BLEASS Reverb and then either their Delay or Shimmer(depending on what kind of instrument), and Grand Finale on the drums and bass. Anything else is a case-by-case basis for me

  • I have a standard "video clean" template in Cubasis for starting the editing process for all audio captured by my video camera. It goes like this:

Brusfri - to kill the room noise and (usually) boost the level
Waves Audio Track - high-pass filter and other corrective EQ of needed, sometimes more level boost
Pro-C - compression and (usually) reduction of stereo field
Pro-L - for checking levels - usually will remove after knowing I'm in the right ballpark

I intentionally don't have any standard reverbs, delays, distortions, etc in my template so I can consider those fresh for each project

  • I like to change up what I use often so it keeps things fresh but some that I do use really often would be TB Barricade (it’s essential for me and I put it on everything), TB Reverb, TB Reelbus (what can I say I love Toneboosters lol), Timeless, Saturn 2, Volcano, BYOD and ChowTape, MiRack and Drambo as an effect, Crystslline, FAC Chorus, Choric, and uh damn I’m getting carried away again 😂 there’s too many!
