Need an audio interface with two devices
Hello !
I would like to use an audio interface that can be used with two devices : inputs with windows 10 and outputs with iOS (iPad)
I think the iconnectivity audio4c could work
Comments
I have the older iconnect audio4+ and it works perfectly between my M1 iPad Pro and my PC or MB Pro. I also found that it works well as an audio interface for my MPC One and my IPad/Mac. They are great little units that do that one specific trick extremely well.
My goal is to plug it to an old iPhone SE with a sampler, route the outputs separately with the outputs of the audio interface, then goes into the inputs connected to a windows tablet.
The idea is to be able to use vst effects on several channel of my sampler (for example vst delay on the sample with synth, reverb vst with the sample with vocals etc…
The iConnectAudio can route the iPhone channels (and the Win returns) via software, no need for analog io.
What do you mean ? (Sorry I’m French, my English is sometimes quite limited)
If you only need a single stereo signal between devices, the Lewitt Connect 6 seems to be half the cost of the Audio4C. But I’ve never used it or known anyone who has owned it.

I had it. I returned it. It had trouble keeping the connections well, connected, when two “devices” ie a computer and an idevice. On paper it seemed like it was perfect. The plastic housing would be fine for just sitting on a desk but just not built for being portable.
( FYI tech support was engaged multiple times to make sure it wasn’t user error )
Thanks but I need 4 channels : synth, vocals, bass, drum
The connect 6 seems to have a price similar to the audio4c
The 4c is your best bet.
The 4c has software channels to exchange audio between IOS and Windows, it doesn‘t need the analog ports and cables for this, but directly sends the digital data.
Check the specs, they probably have a page in your language.
You just need a (free) app reConfig4Audio from the app store, iConnectivity doesn‘t support this type of control any more.

My experience is the opposite. I have one (Lewitt connect 6) and find it brilliant for portability. I have other audio interfaces for my desktop and ipad, but when I’m on the move and want to combine laptop and ipad it is ideal. No problems with connection (MacBook Pro m1/iPad pro 4th gen), straightforward desktop routing app, lightweight and I love the functionality of one big hardware button.
…but it is only a 2 channel connection - and I got it very cheap (compared to 4c) on eBay.
@steve99 im glad your experience was a good one
@Telefunky do yo mean I don’t need to buy the 4c ? And can just connect input and outputs with software on iPad and windows ?
Edit: I think I understand : you mean I don’t need to use the physical inputs and outputs, the two devices (iPad and windows tablet) will be linked together because they will be plugged to the 4c
There’s a lot that work. Some specifically made for idevices and others that are USB connectable to any device/laptop/desktop etc… also I’d consider getting audio and midi, if you do anything midi, midi controller, midi keyboard, midi pads etc…
I think what they mean is to be used with two devices simultaneously and routing audio between them. There are only a few interfaces that can do that.
I think a used iConnectivity iConnect MIDI2+ would work for streaming audio , but you would need to use another audio interface on windows to hear the sound and link the virtual soundcard from iConnectivity to you actual interface
This would be tricky ,especially for low latency <128 buffer size , using Asio4All , or Reaper DAW ( or Wasapi drivers don't need bidirectional flow )
If latency isn't an issue you can use Sonobus app via wifi . Unfortunately it's not user friendly for setting local network connections and not optimized for low latency over ethernet
I have not had good luck with Sonobus over WiFi. It works great with a wired connection, but via WiFi I always end up with some discontinuities even with big buffers. Some people get decent results over WiFi . Seems possible that it depends on the router.
I got an audio2+ for a cheap price, it seems that it could do the trick !
A link to my own post about the Lewitt Connect 6 from a few months back, I don't think anyone read it but me... maybe I was just ahead of my time

EDIT: it's not necessarily an easy read, but nice pictures of it in action.
indeed I missed it , nice presentation , great studiomux workaround for the price you got it, but looking at ebay/reverb it's not that cheap
