APP for polyrhythm
Hey folks, I love Patterning but you can't use in AUM. What apps are you folk using for hypnotic rhythms? Thanks folks!
Comments
Well the good news is that Patterning 3 is in development and will be AUv3
However, there are many apps that can do poly I think. I will come back to this thread and post a few if no-one else does.
MKer
Cykle
Polybeat
several of the bud apps
Anything with a piano roll will allow you to program polyrhythms.
Hammerhead.
Just to add a couple more:
Even though it is IAA, I still use it in AUM. I just have to remember to save the pattern within Patterning and to re-load it from Patterning when I open that project in AUM. It is still too good not to use.
There are loads. And for example, even apps that have mono only output, like some of the Cem Olcay apps, can also be used for polyrhythms, polymeter etc if you use multiple instances.
Polyphase is great for this, though IAA only.
Ioniarics by Pagefall.
Euclidean by 4Pockets, which also had a stunningly brilliant paper on polyrhythm, polymeter, Euclidean sequences etc written for it by David Collett that should be linked to in the manual if I remember right.
Many many more I can't think of off the top of my head. If you search I think you'll find there have been other threads about this.
Hammerhead does any kind you need. Each channel is configurable separately, just like in Patterning, except the visualisation is not circular.
Not sure what is meant by Patterning can’t be used in AUM. I do literally every day. There is in fact an option to route all 8 pieces of kit to a different AUM channel, using the sequencing function. What have I failed to understand?
Think maybe the OP isn’t using IAA or doesn’t know about it or is just confused/wording it wrong maybe?
