  • Just got a Field myself and it’s soooooo much better than the original OP-1, well worth the wait.

Sweet. What do you like better if you don’t mind me asking? It definitely seems to have some advantages.

  • MC707 sounds better, it’s focused workflow, the sampler has a bit of bite to it, the tactile controls promote muscle memory where as a touch screen not so much. I owned the MC707 for about a year then sold it and bought a Fantom 6.

Everything really. It's built better, it's velocity sensitive (sorta) now, the sound is WAY better, the display is easier to see and gives you more info, the new reverb sounds fantastic, the knobs feel less cheap, the built in speaker and mic are huge upgrades. It really is a brand new machine improved in almost every way over the original.

Fantastic. When it was first announced I was afraid it was gonna be a big nothing burger but I’m glad they actually did it right. Even more excited now. Especially having a better built in mic and the extra tape options.

  • why “vs”?!
    iPad + MC-101 is a great combo.

It does seem like a killer combo. Love that you can sample/loop via usb as well.

If anyone has this combination, I’d love to see a video of them together in action.

well, TBH my to-go combo is iPad + Circuit Tracks – because i can use the latter as physical MIDI controller, and this pair is well suitable even for playing a gig.

but iPad + 101 is cool too. however, iPad + Tracks + 101 is better yet :D

OP-1 + iPad has been my favorite. Sadly I sold mine and miss it dearly so I’m saving up for the Field. The 101 may end up being mine as well 😂 I loved the 707 in a lot of ways and the 101 seems more straightforward for quick jamming.

SP404 and Digitakt pair well with the iPad as well.

However with Drambo and Koala, I feel like I don’t really need anything. I just want it 😂
