Is it possible to have 2 identical microSD cards in iOS? SOLVED
Let me explain maybe a little bit misleading title.
I have iPad docking station with SD card reader and USB-C hub with SD card reader as well.
I'm using docking station at home and USB-C hub when I'm travelling. Unfortunately, I often forget to remove the microSD card from the dock and connect it to the USB hub before leaving home.
So I decided to buy another microSD card and thought that copying the contents from the old card to the new one would be all I needed to do. I was wrong. All apps that have content there said that storage is unavailable. I had to manually reconnect them to the same folder. Both cards must have some unique identifier or something similar.
So I would like to ask you if there is a way how make identical clone of microSD including all atributes or any other solution.

I don't have direct experience of this - but I've worked a lot with cloned media hard drives on desktop. Obviously they need to have the same name to relink automatically. One trick I learned is to cut and paste the name of the drive / card rather than retyping it. Can't explain why that works better, but it does.
The correct way for apps to store file locations is not with strings that provide the path. They use file identifiers (unique numeric codes) that uniquely identify a file…otherwise an app would not be able to know what the right file is if two mounted volumes have identical names and structures.

The way to resolve it is to use the same card.
Maybe it’s not enough to just name things the same. It might be possible if the cards were completely cloned at the block level. I know of Linux utilities to do this but can’t say offhand for MacOS or Windows. Im sure there’s nothing available to do it on iOS.

Can confirm that. I did copy by cloning with AOMEI Partition Assistant and it works. Now I'm on phase 2 - why it works.
If you can find the command used to mount the card, you should be able to find what attribute/identifier is being used. Might even be possible to edit that and mount it using different syntax to make the cards appear to be the same card.
I would assume there is a configuration written somewhere, but not sure where that would be stored. Maybe start researching that and see what you come up with?
Got it. Crucial point is to copy serial number from source to destination microSD card. That's all, no cloning is necessary. I copied all folders in standard way. Btw, my source card is 64GB and destination is 256GB.
