Gig case recommendation
I’m looking for a solid gig case that I can fit a key step 37, LanuchPad Pro, Launch Control XL, my iPad and a small audio interface. I’d like to have enough space in the case to wire everything (USB).
I basically want to set it up in a way where I can have everything already connected together in the case, and take it to a gig and just hook up power and 2 x 1/4” lines so I don’t have to hook up everything every time I take them to a gig.
Most gig “DJ” cases are made for DJ controllers like Pioneer and Denon.
Is there a case that you can recommend for this purpose?

One option is measure out a close approximation of the layout, and buy whichever Flyht brand case from Thomann that is closest to that size. Arrive at gig, place case, remove lid, plug, play.

Thank you for the recommendation! I looked around and found this which will fit the bill. Surprisingly it’s a preorder but it’ll be available but end of the month. Perfect timing:

Also I found a few cases for lighting equipment that can work as well. But the one above is exactly what I need.
Thanks again!
yeah looks great

looks good , though I couldn’t see mention of dimensions or material ,
which in my own recent search for something similar seemed prominent in the advertising .
I ended up getting Gator GMix 20” x 25”

which looked massive when it arrived , until I put the main controller in it .
Still planning the layout - the biggest issue it seems & similar to yours is that the internal 2cm hardfoam padding
makes it difficult to make any fixings to the case - it is designed to be used with gear velcroed ,
but I want a stronger structure with 2 layers so am looking into making an aluminium frame , fixed to the metal rim of the sides probably with superglue .
In case (!) you missed it there was a previous inspiring thread here:

Thanks for this info. I hadn’t seen that thread before.
The Gator is huge indeed and really rugged. Nice!
The ANALOG case is 24.5”x13”. That is enough for me. I don’t need that much space as I’m gonna have my keyboard outside of it in the front. That’s just 1 USB cable going into the USB hub.
One thing I like about the one I ordered is that the top disconnects. I can use that for other things during the gig. In the case, I will have the iPad, Launchpad Pro, Launch Control XL, a small 4 port USB hub, and an SP404 which I use as a sampler, effects processor, and audio interface (I love the SP404), all hooked up and ready to go. At the gig, I’ll have the iPad on a little stand in the case so it won’t take much surface space. It will definitely beat my current setup which is everything squeezed in a back pack. 😊
Who knows? One day I might need something bigger and I know what to look for now. Thank you!
You can get cases with foam inserts that you cut yourself. They are useful if you want a good fit on custom pieces.
Don’t make one out of wood, I learned the hard way.
Looks nice though!
What happened?
I was wondering the same. Aside from some slight cable squishing looks lovely, and great. What problems come from it being wood? Or you mean don't because it's hard work?!
Cheap and lots of space:

Yes it turned out to look lovely, I agree. There was a nice foam piece that covered all the cables too, I just don’t have a picture of it.
The downside was that I needed to hire a semi truck and 4 extra strongmen every time I took it too a gig, it weighed a freaking ton! Well, maybe more like 65lbs, which sort of the defeated the purpose of making a nice all in one easy to carry case. I did an outdoor festival once and hauling that thing 1/2 mile from my car to the venue left me with more money in medical bills for my back than I made that night 😁
If I did it again I’d definitely use something like a Gator case or some other plastic solution.
I have 2 magma cases, both work fine though they are NOT flightcases. But sturdy enough for my needs and lightweight.
