Animoog Z Arpeggiator Note Editing
Hi,
Has anyone tried editing the note sequence in the Arpeggiator? I want to create my own arpeggios and be able to control the filter/orb articulation, but so far I haven’t been able to do so.
Any help very much appreciated 🍻

I love the Moog synth apps, but the Animoog Z is my least used synth now. I think it's just a bit too complicated for me to use it consistently. And no, I've not used the arpeggiator.
The notes you hold down are the notes that get arpeggiated. On the FX page, you can choose the order algorithm used.
It is strictly an arpeggiator not a sequencer.
Also, Animoog is great!
I only have the Arturia iMini, but being its a IAA synth I hardly ever use it, but the Animoog Z is amazing with aftertouch.
Thanks for replying anyway 🍻
Yes Animoog is brilliant.
I. Understand that held notes are arpeggiated but almost all other synth apps allow you to enter your own arrangement, such as in ButterSythn, I have created loads of different arpeggio presets easily, but not in Animoog, this app has the edge on other synths because of its sonic beauty.
Thanks anyway 🍻
Animoog Z is a great sounding synth. The manual is quite good. Worth a look if you have read it.
Mmm, I have been through it already but no mention of editing the notes apart from what you mentioned earlier.
I ask the question because I don’t know if editing is only available on the Mac
There is a new 98 preset pack by DMTcymatics, it has loads of brilliant arpeggios, how did he make those arpeggios? 🤔🤔🤔
I don't understand what you mean about editing the notes. The notes come from the keys you press. Can you post a screen recording demonstration of a patch that is arpeggiating anything other than the notes being held down?
Are the patches you are talking about using orbits to control pitch? take a look at the modulations page to see.

In this clip playing one note produces a set of arpeggiated notes that cannot be changed by the user (me) I can only adjust the octave range/direction/divisions, not really exciting is it.

In this clip the arpeggiated notes can be edited in ButterSynth, playing any note will play those note sequences in that particular key/interval/direction/gate, the same applies to almost all other synth apps.
I also don’t use the orbits to control the pitch, but to control the overall effect that I want to apply to the Arpeggiator as it is being played
The Animoog video doesn’t provide much info. You don’t show the Animoog tabs relevant to what is happening. . Post screenshots of all the modulations. It sounds like that patch might be using a square wave to modulate the pitch. Or that might just because you chose 3 for the octave setting.
Do you understand that when using an arpeggiator, one normally holds down multiple notes at once.
ButterSynth is a different sort of thing with a sequencer aspect that Animoog Z doesn’t have. Animoog Z’s arpeggiator is a basic arpeggiator.
Yes I understand what you are saying about basic arpeggiators, what I am trying to achieve is to alter the pitch of the arpeggiated notes to form a musical phrase that suits the mood of a specific track, I don’t just want simple up-down notes of the same pitch, I also don’t want to have to hold down keys to form a complex arpeggiated chords which can so easily and quickly be played up and down the keyboard using just one finger when using ButterSynth, Sunrizer, Synthmaster 1&2, Magellan, Lorentz, Tera Pro, I could go on.
But you have answered my question by telling me Animoog Zs Arpeggiator is a basic Arpeggiator, thank you, now I can stop searching for something that doesn’t exist. I have attached a screen shot of Animoog modulations, only four mods are being used.
Thanks for your time 🍻
@rapidfire : your earlier comments sounded like the DMT cymatics presets achieved something along the lines of what you were after.
That’s right, but I have workaround that will do what I want, I will rout an arpeggio from a different synth app into Animoog and that way I can use Animoog as an fx unit 👍
If the DMT Cymatics patches do it, look at the modulation page. That is probably where the pitch change is coming from.
