How to trigger "Gladstone" sounds in Korg Gadget 2 using Alesis Nitro Mesh electronic drum over Midi

Hi,

While using Alesis Nitro mesh electronic drums I could trigger snare & one tom sound from "London" in Korg Gadget 2 but it failed to trigger all sounds & in none case of Gladstone & other drum modules.
  • The App recognise Alesis as MIDI input
  • The sounds could be triggered by tapping on screen
  • Here is the reply from Korg App

Quote

London is MIDI note from C2 - G2
Recife is MIDI notes from C2 to D#3
Gladstone MIDI notes from C2 to A2

MIDI notes in the above range are received and pronounced.
If you are receiving sound by tapping on the screen or by inputting into a sequencer, you may need to review your trigger settings.

We are unable to provide support for Alesis drum triggers, so we cannot offer a solution, but we believe that if you control the MIDI note range above, it should sound.

Appreciate a Little help here

  • First of all, I would put a gadget such as Marseille and check what notes are being sent by the pads on your Alesis.

If no notes are sent, it’s probably a matter of configuring the midi input and channel (button “all” in the respective mixer track).

If you confirm that every single pad is sending SOME note, then it should only be a matter of adjusting the note to ensure it’s in the range specified above. The Alesis Nitro manual has the instructions on how to adjust the note values under “midi settings”.

As mentioned by @otterfactor, adjusting the notes coming from the Nitro is the better way to do it.

Keep in mind that octave numberings may be different between Alesis and Gadget. What is C2 in Gadget may be listed as C1, C2, or C3 in the Alesis.
