ooh,how cute :) and free..."grabbed".thanks for the hint.I already own Magellan and Magellan JR which i prefer to use on iPad because of the BIGGER Interface (first time i had fun with the sequencer now)and i don't need this slightly confusing dual engine.Great synths...

    .

  • Sweet, the original MiniSynth got quite a bit of use on my "vintage" iPhone 1st gen.

  • This is such a nice sounding synth, and a joy to program...and free and AB Comp...what more could we ask for..I can feel a video coming on.........

  • How similar is this to Magellan/Magellan Jr? Or is it totally different?

  • Very different..it's Mono, no Arpeggiator, only 30 presets with space for 30 user..only 2 OSC, it's super basic...but very cool..fantastic way for people to learn the basics of analogue synth programming and it has a very phatt juicy sound kinda Mini Moogish...it has a very nice reverb and delay..and it's free 100% no IAP's..

  • Oh yeah it has a recorder and ACP..

Sweet! Thanks and sorry for my lack of knowledge but I am having a ton of fun learning everything as I go, looks like I jumped in at a pretty cool time in iOS music creation....but I'll admit I'm a noob and trying to soak up as much as possible

  • Your right in saying it is a basic and simple synth good for learning. So After playing for a few I ran through there presets and tried to pick which waveforms were being used, which is cool because one waveform sounds a lot different depending how much oscillation is used, and I actually did pretty good. So for anyone else learning this is great to learn the basics on.

  • Just grabbed this but im at work. Hopefully be a fun train journey home. I love organ+ by Yonac. I'd love them to put that on the bus

  • Yonac are putting organ+ on the bus next they say...and MiniSynth is great for learning and you can get some blistering leads out of it....

  • Buy some spare leads, just in case...

  • Brilliant news, cant wait for organ+ update now. I didn't even consider it getting on the bus because I've probably had it a year or so and it's never been updated in that time. Thought it was in app limbo. Not that I minded as I love the sounds on it already

  • yay for organ+! Sounds so good.

  • I got this i fo from thier forum, they say organ+ is next and that all thier apps are inline..

  • Bolasol has made a demo of miniSynth 2 with an audiobus enabled Werkbench jam:

  • awesome. I think I love every damn werkbench video ever made.

This video made me realize a feature request that is probably beyond the pale: a simple (or not!) midi keyboard within workbench to control background apps. Since it got on the bus I have been using the crap out of it with iOS synths. Being able to trigger notes from within werkbench (when no midi keyboard is available) would be wonderful.

  • That is a fantastic idea. I've been brainstorming how to tackle something along those lines. Switching back and forth for every sample certainly gets a bit tiresome. The dream for me would be something like a split screen or pop-up window so the synth controls can remain visible. That said, more in-depth MIDI support is on the way.

  • I was thinking it could replace the top area when opened. When I'm triggering notes, I don't need any of that stuff - just the grids.

Or maybe just a mini keyboard that you could bring up by double tapping the pitch knob. something like impaktor's.

You could use the keyboard to transpose patterns too!

  • Well, that Bolasol jam made me want werkbench and glad I grabbed mini synth... and gave me some respect for Bolasol as a dev who knows how to make music. Nice one!

  • @syrupcore Yes. Keyboard for transpose was actually developed and scrapped earlier in the whole design process. It's been on our minds and has been a feature request a few times. I'd expect something along those lines will make it in a future update.
