Normally yes but 120 now! Just played them all - best instruments on iOS along with swam for me.

Yes - unfortunately neither Naada or SWAM seem to get the attention they should on this forum. Seems most ABF members are more into synths than natural sounds. But both SWAM and Naada sound incredible and are so expressive.

Yeah, they really are. Ah that’s cool, each to their own . I hope it helps someone. :)

I did read that a huge amount of geoshred sales are in India. Quite cool.

  • +1 what @Gavinski said. The Naada and (Geo) SWAM instruments are excellent. I’m lucky enough to have them all and creating some tracks with the latest Naada instruments is on my project list. Targeting India is a clever move commercially with a huge potential market and the latest Naada pack has some Chinese instruments, potentially another smart move. It is interesting how they don’t generate as much comment as the latest synth (no matter how ordinary) even though they can be used as sound sources without the GeoShred playing surface🤨

I am a Geoshred newbie, but I just tried Geoshred Play since it's free and it blew my socks off. Really great stuff.

So I see there is an option to upgrade the app to "Pro" for $10. Does anyone know if that's the same as the $25 app or if I would be missing out on presets, etc. if I buy the Pro upgrade instead of the full Geoshred app?

    Thank you.

It is the same but you do keep the play icon and it sometimes "feel" like a lesser version but .. it is not.

Thank you. Seems like an amazing deal since the regular version is $25. I can live with the play icon

Yeah if that is offered: sounds good, I can't remember what I paid for my upgrade.

I’ve been obsessed with suona for a long time so was really really happy to see it and shenai. Was like a miracle (i watch a lot of Chinese cinema). I was more excited about the Chinese instruments but they’re all brilliant. I want to see a few more like a yangqin think it is, the hammered dulcimer. There is also one bowed instrument, one of the hus, that isn’t on it… it’s the smallest of their bowed instruments and my favourite - it’s really evocative to me of poor village guy’s playing songs in old generation Chinese films. Even more so than the er hu.

Oh yeah… got a tip! I am really fussy about suona and I wasn’t blown away by the tone. Suonas are very cutting and aggressive sounding usually. Frantic. I ran it through pro-q and triple band in barkfilter, pushed up the highs and messed about a bit, and it sounded ten times better. Absolutely perfect for me, completely different.

I would love to see a guqin

  • Very tempted by Naada.

  • edited November 2023

Does anyone know how long the SWAM sales usually last? Very tempted but can’t afford right now.

I actually may just buy the standalone Sax app. I just might get Solo Trumpet so don’t really need the others. And I’d rarely ever use any of the string plugins. The Naada stuff is a lot more tempting tbh. It sounds amazing. If I have the extra money after the holiday bonus I may have to grab it (if it’s still on sale)

Had a listen last night, sounds beautiful. Strangely enough, i thought the lower register and smoother sound made it sound more western. I think you could get a decent sounding analogue with something

There are some amazing performances on YouTube though, with such cool technique that are anythung but western

  • Got the full Naada pack. I've got some of the Swam instruments (GeoShred IAP, not desktop) before... But maybe it's recency/novelty bias, but I'm really enjoying the Naada instruments and they "feel" better than Swam. Especially with the Linnstrument plugged in... I hope they also make these available for Apple Silicon MacOS sometime in the future. Would be awesome as AU/vst3

If it’s still on sale next week I’m gonna grab them as well. How are you liking it?

  • edited November 2023

I just went “full Naada” as well during the sale, breaks down to $5 per instrument. These are instruments I don’t understand, but I like. Geoshred adds different scales to presets which spices it up. I don’t know if you could use that Etonal Studio app with this! Might be neat. I feel I bought too much, but it’s done

  • You guys are killing me 😂 I want to get this now. I never messed with Geoshred much but I like it - just upgraded Play to Pro. It’s a really fun interface to play.

  • Maxwell, just the the stuff in Pro is awesome. Be aware if you buy a pack, it doesn’t get discounted if you later want the bundle. Have fun it’s so easier than keyboard for me

Geoshred is great! Even without the Naada and SWAM instruments. Try diving into the modeling parameters in the menu. It’s capable of making some really out there sounds. Also running it through some app emulations (if you have them) can really beef up the sound and push into near realistic territory It’s really good as a midi controller too.

Yeah I would normally preach gradual accumulation, but with these packs it's maybe better to just go all in and get the big bundle tbh! App store bundle pricing limitations not allowing individual IAP purchases to count towards bundles is a pain in the arse, but at least these bundle prices, especially on sale, are very reasonable. I was having a blast with the sitar earlier.

Has there been an ETA on when the sale will end? Trying to see how urgently I need to be jumping on this lol

  • Just saw the sale goes through the 19th, 2 days before I get paid 🤦🏻‍♂️ if I have enough after bills this week I may take the punt but as of right now it’s waiting. Gotta pay bills first lol

  • Last year sale for geo instruments went about two weeks into early dec. this year sale started earlier. I think you should spend a couple days learning the keyboard up, if it works for you.t. Does this take MIDI IN? Might not. The other full SWAM apps from other developer are great(trumpet). Aren’t you already on edge of considering other FX apps?

Win the whole lot - Geoshred Pro plus all IAPs. Winner will be picked in 2 days, so still plenty of time to buy at sale prices if you don’t win ✌️

That’s a great prize. Good to see you get support for your video channel from a developer. And really good for the winner.

I’m playing my way through the Naada Packs 1,2 and 3 and they are so great. The presets are amazing with Arps and swells and vowels… yes I bought some vowels and I’d like to solve the puzzle. The winner of this prize will have an amazing kit of world and western instruments to create with. I started adding more GeoShreds in aum driven by scripts and the results got me excited to make some music. I think I like these Naada instruments better than the SWAM stuff… they tale vary little tinkering to get a realistic sounding solo.

Obviously I’d love to win but whoever does end up winning is getting a heck of a deal. Good luck everyone!

  • @HeavyWater , yes GS accepts midi in from the likes of ZOA, Piano Motifs, external controllers etc even probably Drambo 😀
The input channel needs to be 2 or higher for the Geo… instruments else you will get a warning message.
