HiFi Audio Processing with the iPad
Hey!
It seems a bit strange, but in my „living-room-part“ in my „office“ and were i make music, i have a small corner with a projector and a small PA (HK nano). There i relax, listen to music - and watch movies. You all know the problem with movie surround sound when you have no AV-receiver with such late-night-modes. The volume is far too loud most of the time, if you have family members in the other room...
My setup is a USB audio interface were i can connect an iPad, i do this for listening web-radio for example, or playing around with AUM on the couch.
The audio of the dvd player goes into the USB audio interface and could be processed by the iPad.
I played around with the limiter in AUM and its better then nothing, but far from a „real“ late-night mode were the center of the signal will be raised and the high volume levels turned down.
The movies that i have on the laptop are played with VLC player, here i have made some dynamic settings that are, lets say, okay.
But a processing inside the iPad for movie sound (not digital, just stereo!) just for this problem would be great. If you have suggestions, please let me know :-)

Not being a home theatre guy I do not fully understand your question. Can you clarify what sound processing you are after?
Are you looking for a way to reduce the volume of movie surround sound when you don’t have an AV-receiver with late-night modes? Do I understand correctly? smash karts
