A long journey

The last months have been, well, I won't even mention it.
I could at least work on some music yesterday.
All made in Nanostudio 2.

  • Nice to have a new piece by you Joseph. Along with @LinearLineman your creations are very much missed. A great piece of music🙏

  • Glad to hear you back, Joseph. Many miles, many struggles and, hopefully, many moments of satisfaction. Life has the meaning we give it. It’s for each of us to self describe. It’s what we say it is.

    What apps used here?

  • Thanks guys, I really appreciate.
I used NS2 and zero reverb.

  • This is outstanding. Was this all done with only NS2? If so, I need to get that ASAP. Great tracks, bro!

  • Yes only NS2. All the patches were made in obsidian with my samples. Since I forgot my wired headphones I used my AirPods Pro 2, gave up on using my small keyboard and entered the notes manually.

  • Joseph, you never stop to amaze me. This is a phenomenal piece, from the beginning to the end. After every pass, anticipation for what will come next is fantastic.

The selection of instruments is perfect, unconventional rhythms just thicken the theme even more. For me, it's a new discovery every time I listen to it. Now I know why you chose this title. 🤩

  • Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed it

  • Glad to have you back here, Joseph. I hope you're here to stay!
Incredible piece of music, as usual. Loving this piece as much as everything you gracefully share with us.

  • Enjoyed this journey @jo92346 - I'm guessing from the musical themes that it's the Silk Road.
Welcome back and thanks for sharing.

  • You’re good @pbelgium !

Not at all. I think that means you did an excellent job portraying the landscapes musically - especially if you were entering notes manually, I remember doing that in NS1, mind-numbing.

  • Very cinematic and enjoyable. Entering notes manually must have made the creation of this piece a long journey as well! However, the final result is well worth it. The ingenuity and creativity of people working around the audio limitations of NS always amazes me! Brilliant work!

  • Entering notes manually with the Apple Pencil is not a hassle in NS2. Less practical than notation but after a few minutes I was pretty fast. drawing the CC and velocities is really efficient.
