Is there anywhere a Drambo version of the classic Roland JX03?
I’m wondering if there’s a Drambo instrument patch exchange that may have a Roland Juno 03 or similar ? I wish Roland would join the IOS camp. I guess I could try myself, but I’m not that great with it yet.

Isn’t the whole thing with Drambo that learn/build own stuff (or replicas)?
I agree, Drambo is hard to learn, but, it’s sooooo fuckin’ powerful & deep, and, everything is doable!
Perhaps someone here have any clue if it’s any ready Drambo patch for Roland JX-03?
You should give it a try. As you can see, the architecture of that synth is super basic… pretty much a “101” layout. If you’ve not put any time into setting up synth lanes in Drambo, this would be a perfect place to start.
It would be wonderful if Roland would get into this area, though. And it would seem like a natural progression, given that they’ve “virtualized” all their classic gear anyway. But it’s unlikely.
A bit of 're-architecting' may be needed to adapt it to Drambo since everything goes left to right.
As an example all modulators (Envelopes and LFOs) need to be put to the left of the oscillators and filters since they can modulate all the parameters that come after them.
The LFO delay can be done by connecting a graphical envelope going from 0 to 1 to the LFO amount and graphical envelopes time will be the delay.
I don't know how the 'MET1 & MET2' work on the JX maybe it's just FM where oscillator 1 modulates the frequency of 2nd oscillator. These might be doable using the shaper module to fold/warp the audio?
Sync can be done by patching the gate from the 2nd oscillator to the first and adjusting the frequency of the 2nd oscillator.
Don't know what frequency-range the envelopes modulate on the JX.
Ring Modulation is done by multiplying the oscillator outputs and source-mix by feeding both oscillators to X-Fader before connecting to the filter.
For the Amp / Gate switch using a X-1 with Note Gate and Envelope output as inputs routed to an amp module might work.
I do feel it's a better idea to 'build a patch for a purpose' instead of replicating the entire hardware...
I know the basic architecture like oscillator / envelopes / filter etc. but the arp or some
Of the modulation settings go over my head. Also the osc would be similar but the color would maybe be different with the filters. I am slowly learning though .. Ok, thanks
You could try searching the patchstorage site for "Juno" or "Roland". Might turn up some useful ideas.
Also, see if you can find a manual for the target. That might explain some of the details. The Japanese manufacturers usually have pretty good archives.
The Junos have some interesting (odd) features, like using the same envelope for VCA and VCF (variable amount). And the possibility of inverting the filter envelope (use 1-env). The LFO has a delayed start that can simulate players on real instruments, like violin.
Sorry. I didn’t mean to be non-responsive. @Samu’s reply was much better.
For now, maybe best and easiest I just buy :
TAL-U-NO-LX
I heard it’s pretty nice and AUv3
It's very, very nice
OB-Xd is another classic worthy to be added to any collection.
I'd also consider getting Poison-202 if you don't have it already...
Super pointers.. thanks
Ah Jim Audio / Pure Acid .. the master who brought us the 303 to iPad.
I thought it was Propellerheads that gave us the 303 first on iOS?
+1
Absolutely. Just be prepared OBXd doesn’t have internal effects so you’ll have to use your other AUV3 effects. Which we all probably do anyway. Just something to keep in mind.
That would be the best choice. The hardest part in Drambo would be getting the filter sound right which TAL already has.
I have a JX3P, it’s a bit different originally a guitar synth. The metal sound is a kind of odd ring mod.
Thanks for your input..Yeah, the filter is kinda the main element for sound coloring I guess.
