Drum Computer Melodies possible?
Hi there
I’m sending fixed value midi into DrumComputer and it’s playing melodic sound back on certain presets. Is there a way to add your own melodic lines or edit melodies in the presets?
Thanks
Lea

You could probably manage this by automating the pitch in the sequencer…
I have to confess I don't understand the question.
What I will say is that any sounds that have a discernible pitch/resonant frequency, and that their mapping/zone spans more than one note, will, obviously enough sound melodic when that span of pitches is made use of.
So a combination of, sound designing any of the 8 sounds making use of their pitch settings and or say resonance, or with obviously tuned wavetables, and then using wide span mapping zones
(Maybe then in the sequencer, add some pitch changes to particular steps if you mean to hard set a melodic phrase within the preset?)
So I’m not using the internal sequencer of DrumComputer at all. I’m using patterning 2 to trigger the 8 drum sounds in DrumComputer which works fine but depending on the DrumComputer preset I’m hearing pitch values change over time. I can also hear pretty distinct variations in reverb too as if the presets have some kind of automation built in.
Thanks again
Lea
The individual drum patches do have LFOs and envelopes that can change pitch (and other things) over time. I wouldn’t want to try to create a melody with them, but stranger things have happened.
Hmmm, so,
under the rainbow tab there's no Auto 1 or Auto 2 active?
definitely no pattern running?
on the Seq tab, under the Ptch, as much as you're not using the sequencing of it, might there be pitch control steps rather than note event steps?
IE if you go to Seq, select 1 (red, on the right) and check Ptch control amount per each step are all set to 0, and the same through all of the 1-8 sounds, pressing X if necessary to clear more quickly
not sure what else, some ghostly midi cc already set up and mapped! but that would be too weird.
and everything @Shabudua wrote
Each Drum Part has a Pitch keyboard symbol top left in Global section , if red (on) it may be causing this
Can patterning 2 sequence midi as well? Could it be sending note AND CC values?
