Sparkle and Stria AUV3 functionality
With the annual ApeSoft Black Friday sale rapidly approaching, I better ask this now…
I know they are auv3 compatible now, but how DO they function in that capacity? All existing videos I’ve seen of them in action are them in standalone mode (and were made YEARS before AU functionality was added). For someone who uses , say, GarageBand, how is the compatibility with the built-in keyboard?
Comments
Well, I did find a keyboard in one of the videos on Sparkle… anything for Stria?
I don't know anything about Garageband, Stria basically designed to be played with the keyboards in the app. I've used it as auv3 but don't remember ever using it with aum keyboard, for example.
I never really got into Sparkle. I think MagicFusion by GSDSP might be an alternative worth looking into, the modulation possibilities on those gsdsp apps are really the best out there, I think.
Ah so Stria also has a built-in keyboard? Excellent! I watched your video but I don’t recall seeing it lol unless it was the spot on the left… I think I might have expected to see the same one used in Mood, IPulsaret, and Electric Vintage
There are 2 actually, but one can be hidden. Haven't used it in a long time tbh. Too many apps!
Awesome… thank you!!!
Keyboard use in Sparkle (it has a built-in one, too) depends on operation.
In the more drastic processing modes, sound doesn‘t translate well to tonal scales, reminds on a ring modulator frequently.
And level can jump easily for 50dB or more from one octave to another.
There‘s a limiter (not present in early releases) afaik, but it can get loud...
Both Sparkle and Stria work great as AUv3.
Sparkle is an effect and an instrument. It performs cross-hybridization between two sounds. The source sound is deformated by the target. I have not encountered anything else like it. The keyboard can be used to control the amount of pitch shift.
Stria is a generator and an instrument. The keyboard does what you'd expect.
I recommend you buy apeMatrix if you haven't already.
