Patch Base Question
Is it the case that patch base doesn’t display or edit the performance patch parameters of a synth, when a synth has a performance setting?
For example, I’ve been trying patch base for the dx7ii and the Roland d10, both of which involve layering two sounds to make a performance patch. But these parameters don’t seem to be available in patch base. Am I doing something wrong, or is patch base missing this important feature?
Comments
Which app are you referring to?
Patch Base is a sysex controller app for external hardware synths.
(sorry, no idea about the performance layering)
Patch Base should be able to edit one synth at a time, configuring two patches on different synths used as a layer could be done via bank and program changes, separate to editing, but if using the same channel you would have to make sure PC numbers are mapped and saved correctly on both synths.
Looperboy refers to the performance parameters of each the DX7/2 and the Roland D10.
These synths can layer patches in a „performance“, but it‘s obscure (atm) if this feature is accessible via sysex at all.
I understand now, the parameters would need to be accessible via sysex and then saved via sysex, to edit and save multitimbral performance patches.
patch base
I’m talking about synths like the DX7ii and the D20 etc which make a performance patch by layering two patches within the same synth. These performance patches can be saved as sysex, and shared between users as sysex files. So they must be accessible via sysex
These performance patches can be edited in sysex editors like Midiquest. The feature is 100% accessible via sysex.
Right. Sorry, not much help with that
thanks for the information
