Pure Synth Platinum 2 — missing sounds

I'm remembering having far more sounds in my Pure Synth Platinum 2 collection. Also all my favorits a gone. Already did try to restore a early backup and a repair/restore but no luck.

Anyone came across that issue before and maybe knows a fix?

    Here too.

    These problems again. It's not the first time.
    My factory content is completely lost again. I had the full version.
    Even my user presets are no longer available.
    What a sloppy quality assurance.

    GM what's going on again? Where are all my sounds, that I paid for? I don‘t want to buy again.

    iPadOS 17.1.1
    iPad Pro M1
    Pure Synth Platinum 2 Ver 2.5.27

  • @GospelMusicians has mentioned before that the best way to contact them is their contact us page. They don't always actively monitor this forum.

  • Yes, this has happened to me also. I purchased the full PSP app years ago, probably before 2020. In January 2023, PSP 2.5.15 suddenly lost the Factory samples. In February, PSP 2.5.17 included 5.9 GB of Factory samples. April's PSP 2.5.19 reduced the Factory samples to 3.7 GB. In October, I accidentally updated to PSP 2.5.27, and I've apparently lost the Factory samples again. I cannot understand why this is such a moving target. Can't we simply keep what we originally paid for? @GospelMusicians?

  • Have y’all tried resintalling the app then restoring purchases?

    We bought the paid app, which is no longer in the AppStore. The current version is a free "player" app with IAPs that slice and dice the original paid for content. If I delete my original copy, I lose any record of the original paid purchase. Not going to risk that.

    I don't think that's correct. I started by checking my purchased items. It's still there. Then I searched the App Store and found only the app that I own. I purchased long before the free player version.

    When I visit the App Store the app is titled Pure Synth Platinum. When I open the app it has a Pure Synth Platinum 2 logo. I don't think any separate app stuff is going on.

    Still ... yeh ... I wouldn't risk it myself.

    So, in settings > download, Factory Content shows "Installed", but in the Library, tapping on Factory Content shows only the option to purchase. Refresh does nothing, and Settings > download > repair does nothing.

    That's messed up. Guess I gotta hassle with contacting them unless by chance @GospelMusicians is lurking about.

    I agree, it's the same app. But this loss of content started in March 2022, with PSP 2.5.7, when they switched from paid to "freemium". The full Factory content then began the cycle of appearing and disappearing with updates.

    I’ve only recently bought the Factory content so can’t compare the situation now to before, though i did notice that the download size for the Factory content was smaller than I’d read of it being here.

    In this situation, are there actually fewer presets than before or is it possible that they’re just using different audio file compression now which has reduced the install size?

    Answer of the supportteam of GM:

    IAP Issues

    • Please reboot your iPad
    • Please Go to Settings—>Downloads and Refresh. Please make sure to do this in the Standalone and not in an AUv3 as sometimes the AUv3 can block internet access.
    • If that doesn’t work, then purchase again and The AppStore should recognize your previous purchase and not charge you. We will refund you if this doesn’t work.
    • For older Apps, please go into Settings and Restore App Purchases.
    • If none of that works, then please send us your Log File as per below.

    Please Send Us Your Log Files
    SETTINGS - SEND LOG FILE

    This worked for me:
    „ go into Settings and Restore App Purchases“

  • @Iskander . Did you purchase the full PSP app before it switched to Freemium with version 2.5.7 in March 2022? Or did you only need to restore IAPs you had actually made?

  • After a brief discussion with the support person, they told me that an update to PSP is being reviewed by Apple. If this new version works, I'm never going to update again.

    The log file is actually quite interesting, and goes back into the past. On days when the Factory content was working, I see the following messages:

    User bought Pure Synth version: 4346. Unlocking PSPFACTORY.
    unlockedPackIDs: { PSPFACTORY, PSPFREE }
    InstalledAssetsManager: Installed products: { PSP2SAMPLES1, PSP2SAMPLES4, PSP2SAMPLES3, PSP2SAMPLES2, PSP2SAMPLES5, WhiteNoise }

    While, on the bad days, including today, I see:

    Error getting App Version that was purchased: Error 37
    InstalledAssetsManager: Installed products: { PSP2SAMPLES1, PSP2SAMPLES4, PSP2SAMPLES3, PSP2SAMPLES2, PSP2SAMPLES5, WhiteNoise }

    So, it knows those "products" (remember the 5 download steps?) are installed, but does not unlock PSPFACTORY because it could not determine the purchased version. This Error 37 (Catch 22?) comes and goes with different updates.

    I’ve bought the full version before the switch to Freemium.

  • Thanks @uncledave - I'm going to wait to see if the update changes things before hassling with the "purchase anyway and you shouldn't be charged" route. I'm not up right now for the hassle of a customer support session if it doesn't work out.

    Got that. They invited me to a beta of version 2.5.30. It correctly detects the version of my original purchase, and unlocks the Factory content. So, the fix is on the way...

  • Very cool @uncledave - thanks for going the extra mile. I don't know why I've gotten so lazy about such things.

  • the update just came in. all seems to be back to normal. even the favorites are back.

    glad that worked out so quickly and thanks to those who dealed with the app support @uncledave !

    All good here now too. 😎
    Gospel Musicians are good people. Once they know about a mistake, they always make it right.

    We have @uncledave to thank for the speed of it though. I'm sure his pointing to the technical details helped them resolve it far more quickly.

  • Incidentally, can anyone here point to me precisely WHERE on the Gospel Musicians web site one can download the latest version of Pure Synth Platinum 2 for macOS (desktop)? Trying to find a clean link to do so is an exercise in futility.
