Black Friday Emails (Korg Collection Test) - Lady App-titude
Every year I try to do a quick demo using products bought during Black Friday sales. This year it's the Korg Collection 4.
I decided to call the track "Black Friday Emails", because that's all my life is now, deleting Black Friday emails. So far I've mostly been able to resist temptation, but the Korg Collection at 50% off was enough to win me over. This was my first test drive with the collection.

Now it just needs some vocals...
That’s extra crispy with hot sauce… as always the performances really pop. That should sell some production cr while it’s on sale. I wish Korg would move that collection to IOS as AUv3s. I’m sure they have been asked and asked. They just don’t believe we’d pay desktop rates and they are probably right.
There are great synths and all those gadgets but still…
Yes, extra crispy and nice bottom, more than a(ny) 90‘s production for sure
(times have changed since plain digital transfers are common practice)
But the price is lower than IOS atm, less than $15 per plugin.
I‘m having a similar experience with iWavestation, on which I choose the BF option for I cannot afford the original in the foreseeable future
The reverb is slightly crippled (probably to save some CPU cycles), but not too bad and the Roland SRV2000 will help to push it back in time if needed...
Sure it’s BlackFriday but it’s also BandCamp Friday where artists like @Lady_App_titude get to keep all the money. Shout out to @Fear2Stop who needs to sell to get his life and wife back.
If you can help artists with a purchase. Most tracks are and your price. You’ll get a thanks for the giving.
Ha! Lyrics about deleting so many Black Friday emails? I just deleted 26 of them!
Bless you my son for your kind thoughts. I had totally forgotten about Bandcamp Friday today! Yes, a great way to help keep original music alive!
I’ve had Gadget for desktop and always wanted the Korg Collection, but felt they should offer a crossgrade since Gadget contains a few of the same instruments, like M1 and Odyssey. They offered a Gadget iOS to desktop discount, a Korg Collection 3 to 4 upgrade discount, but l was kinda miffed at no Gadget-to-Collection discount. But the current deal was too good to pass up!
Thank you kindly!
I hope you got some feedback.
This is some good stuff! Does the collection come with the MicroKorg also? I’m iOS only so I’m desperately hoping they will port that one eventually.

IOS has more than 1/2 of these, I think. But with few AUv3s so still not taking the platform seriously. But we do buy a lot of what they put out. More revenue than Roland or Yamaha reap. So, that’s something for the mobile 3rd party device market share.
Wow that’s a killer collection. Would love to see a full triton and the miniKorg and MicroKorg come to iOS. I have the Triton IAP in Module and sound wise it’s excellent.
I think Korg is the only one of the big 3 that really properly migrated their classic hardware synths to software.
I feel like they decided not to create more IOS products… just Module Pro IAP’s with some being good but others not so good. Like a junior person made them…
The best solution for us is when desktop/laptop and hardware sales decline.
This is a really slick piece of funk you made @Lady_App_titude . 🔥🔥🔥 Had me boppin my head. I wish they'd release a Korg Collection 4 of AUv3s for iOS. That would be superb.
Could be but I hope they have something new in the works as the MicroKorg would be an immediate buy from me. I love Module and some of the IAPs are great but a new AUV3 from Korg would be cool.
The standout of the Korg Collection IMO is the Prophecy it adds polyphony and other extras but also overcomes the flawed UI of the hardware with such complexity of synthesis.
Definitely. The Prophecy was a main motivation for me, and the first synth l fired up. And the first patch l tried was the Prophecy bass patch you hear in the tune. And that bass line was literally the first notes I played. The rest of the tune was built up from there.
At some point l will get back to auditioning the rest of the thousands of presets in the rest of the Collection. But the Prophecy so grabbed me, l never got past the first preset l tried!
Funky and fun-key(s) ! Nice demo of what you can do with a small fraction of this collection!
Too short… sounded like Jan Hammer was in the room 🙏
Oh my! You honor me...
"Hey dad, they said I sounded like Jan Hammer?"
"What? You sound like a jackhammer."
"Something like that."
It’s BandCamp Friday where artists get your whole purchase.
