Is This Love - Springs by AudioThing

A jam of Bob Marley's 'Is This Love' to test out my Black Friday acquisitions (so far) - AudioThing Springs & DDMF NoLimits 2.

Strat -> Nembrini Faceman -> Springs -> AltiSpace 2 (York Audio Bassman cab) -> NoLimits 2

Thoughts:
Springs sounds great, but the number of spring types is overwhelming. I decided to go with the first one (GBS/Accutronics) and messed with it until I found something I liked. I'm no spring reverb expert and not sure if I got a good sound - I usually use Nembrini Delay3000 to create a fake reverb. I could use some tips and a spring reverb history lesson.

For limiting I use TB Barricade, so did a quick comparison. I found NoLimits 2 (Soft mode) to be more transparent and easier to dial in. Maybe I've found a new 'goto' limiter.

  • Yes, it is. My fam and I enjoyed listening. Sounds great to us, and it was fun to discuss whammy bars. Thank you!

  • Thanks for listening/following @myapologies - there is some very good music on your SoundCloud, will listen to more later.

I think the Strat whammy bar is underrated. If set up correctly it’s as good as a Floyd Rose.

  • That’s a cool tone, for sure. Lots of vintage attitude. As always, your playing is great.

  • Great stuff. I love Springs a lot but it can definitely be overwhelming with all the choices. Lots of good presets though!

I also got NoLimits 2 recently (and have previously defaulted to Barricade) and I’m really enjoying it as well. Barricade is better for me on a track to track basis but NoLimits may be better for an overall mix.

  • Sounds excellent @pbelgium. Great job dialing in Springs.

  • You dialed in some good sounds - very effected, but not overwhelming. Excellent playing as usual.

  • Thanks for listening/commenting @McD @HotStrange @Schmotown @michael_m, much appreciated.

  • Yes great sound, great playing 🙏
