Will Lemur ever come back?

I'm keeping my older iPad religiously because I still have Lemur and many amazing patches in it.
It's such an amazing app, I really hope it's not gone forever.

  • Don't know if it's coming back, but I think you should be able to install it on any newer devices from your purchased history.

Doesn’t show up in purchased items for me. I think I may have an iMazing backup though.

Sometimes there are temporary disappearances, typically when developers forget to renew their developer fees. Those usually get resolved pretty quickly. But when an app goes missing for a long time even from purchased items, it's pretty much guaranteed to be completely dead.

  • Nope, switch to TouchOSC.

Aw, that's a shame. There may be hope for the future, though - https://cdm.link/2023/01/lemur-lives/

    Or MIDI Designer Pro 2 - https://apps.apple.com/app/id492291712

    Oh no!!! Such a shame

  • I’m not sure if it’s true (no official statement), but I read somewhere that Lemur has a new owner.

It appears Lemur is no more available both in the Apple and Android app stores - in 2022 it still was. Indeed it is good to keep old devices just for Lemur alone. I’m not so familiar with TouchOSC, but it appears to be a good controller that has improved in functionality. Actually it was TouchOSC that motivated me to buy my first Apple product, an iPad, in 2012.

Unavailable in purchase history but iMazing or a few other backup apps can help you get the last ipa file version.
Problem is that the last version uploaded to the Appstore was somewhat buggy and I'm more than happy that I've kept a few older versions. TouchOSC does its job as a simple MIDI controller but it's far away from the capabilities of Lemur.
If anyone's interested, I have saved a number of patches from the old Lemur site so if anyone is desperately looking for anything specific, feel free to ask, I might have saved it.

Yes. Not much happening there though.
