The Eye Of The Beholder (Ambient guitar / Springs)

Ambient guitar piece experimenting with Springs (AudioThing). Mixed the guitar in with the 'Church' preset and tweaked to get this lush distant drone effect - I did not know you could do that with a spring reverb.

Strat -> Nembrini Clon Minotaur -> MRH810 -> Delay3000 -> Springs -> AltiSpace2 (YorkAudio MRSH 412 V30) -> NoLimits 2

  • Lovely sounds! Springs is so different here from the other piece you used it on, and I love how it sounds alongside the delay.

  • There's a lot of interesting presets that come with the app making it very versatile - not just a springy sound. Thanks for listening @michael_m.

  • Original tones. Can any other iOS reverb do this?

  • Excellent. Springs is really such an amazing app. If you like spring reverbs I highly recommend TimeVerb from GSI also. Less experimental but sounds beautiful and you can “hit” the side to get that classic spring twang.

    Love this! Great tone too.

  • This is far out! Does anybody say that anymore? Oh well, I do, and this is far out, man. Dig it.

We need to bring “far out” back!

Thanks for listening. The reverb IR has been edited to make this preset - Springs has an editor (see pic from AudioThing website). Not sure which other reverb apps can do this.

    Fab!

  • Mesmerizing. It sounds insanely good.

  • Thanks for listening and the recommendation @HotStrange. An app that says 'Hit me!" must be good. Unfortunately, I'm iPhone only.

Thanks, @Paulieworld - 'far out' seems quite apt for this piece.

Thanks for commenting @jo92346, much appreciated. I'm enjoying your recent creations. Looking forward to some more 'not a cello'.

    Fab!

Wicked, sick, etc etc. I grew up in the 90s and still say all the 90s slang (though a lot was carried over from the 80s).

Yes, I remember in the 80s a lot of negative words were suddenly used as positives. 'Bad' meant 'good', 'wicked' meant 'excellent'. I tried to popularise the word 'nefarious' (That's nefarious, man!) but it didn't catch on. I wonder why? :#

I like that one. This is like... totally nefarious!
    Yeah, that's a keeper.

Bahahaha that cracked me up. That’s totally nefarious 🤣 it kinda works oddly enough though. Gotta think Michael Jackson had something to do with it.
