Recording MIDI Effects in Logic

This may be a basic question but how does one record the midi output of a midi plugin in Logic. Case in Point - using Scaler as a midi effect on virtual instrument and wanting to play the pads in Scaler and record the Scaler produced chor

  • Press and hold on on the midi FX. Select "Record MIDI to Track Here". Hitting record on Logic will now record the midi output.

    Genuinely only found it last night :D

    I tried clicking on the i button, creating a midi midi region and double tapping on it, checking the midi FX (Drambo) midi out was working etc etc...

    Glad I could help but I have no idea why it isn't just 'on' by default like in Cubasis.

    Agreed about the idea it should default to being on. I'm trying think of a use case where you wouldn't want it on?!

    You might have multiple midi fx in series, e.g. a chord generator feeding into an arpeggiator. In this way you can choose which output to record.
