Autoschediastic
Autoschediastic means (so Google tells me) offhand, spontaneous, spur-of-the-moment, unprepared, unrehearsed.
This more or less fits this piece.
Piano Motifs generated the basis of the track, I added Ravenscroft 275 and a couple of Roli Noise sounds and then improvised the GeoTenorSax solo over the top. Done and dusted in about 15 minutes.
Comments
The GeoShred SWAM GeoTenorSax sounds like an alto or soprano sax on those high notes which is a nice feature. I think the actual SWAM products range limit to sell 4 instances of sax apps.
I’m gonna Google that word to break it down to its multi-part meaning that some academic spliced together to describe some human workflow process.
I googled and the major dictionary web sites are so riddled with ads that it’s hard to get much useful context for such a word.
It showed up in 1835 as an English variant of a Greek word.
It’s an adjective and needs a noun to make it have proper context… the @linearlineman’s approach to music in invariably autoschediastic, for which he makes no apology. Invoking the @LinearLineman spell.
That’s for the listen @McD . Strange word…. New one to me.
I’ve just checked and the SWAM Tenor Sax has the same range as the Geo… one plus or minus a semitone.
Nice vibe on this one. You can't go wrong with that Ravenscroft piano.
Thanks for checking. I know when a tenor sax plays that high it sounds like it’s screaming so it’s a strange model but I like the
mellow sound of those upper notes… it’s very Kenny G.
So lovely, thanks for sharing.
Better than Kenny G.
Man that GeoSax sounds good. Loving the pads underneath too. Awesome sauce
Thanks @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr , @belldu and @HotStrange .
Cheers @LinearLineman although I think the only thing we have in common is the use of the big G in our names !
You have more in common than that. fantastic musicians
Wonderful track. That sax is beautiful. Good improv dude, sounded like you had aactual sax
I’m going to start doing more “jam” style/quick tracks than “projects I never finish”
Thanks @dreamcartel . It’s an interesting question as to what constitutes a finished project. I could have spent hours more on this, trying for a better solo, tweaking this, adjusting that, mastering the other (I don’t do mastering, at least I don’t think so) and striving for the 100% perfect track but really the only person who would be agonising over it all would be me. Life’s too short, just go for it and be happy with 80%… substitute a percentage your happy with 😊
I like that line of thinking
Let me ask you this: did you ever consider GF2 just for a quick master? I find it indispensable now that I have heard my tracks with and without it
(Or even Trinity, I just don’t know it )
That is a beautiful ethereal piece. I wouldn’t change anything.
Many thanks @jo92346 .
To be honest @dreamcartel (and this is showing my lack of knowledge / experience) I’m not sure what GF2 or any of the other mastering tools would do for me. I just balance the stereo field / levels manually in AUM, listen on headphones, iPad and speaker and that does me. I like to keep things simple 😊
Enjoyed it like I usually do with your music.
Interesting word and cover art! Very enjoyable music too!
