iOS/ Apple calendar and Google calendar
I updated the iPad and iPhone os recently (latest 17 whatever, I was on 17 on both already, iPad 9 and iPhone 12 mini). I noticed the other day that my Google calendar no longer showed my iCloud calendars, and my Apple calendar is now missing Google calendars unless I add manually, but even then it looks like things are missing.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? I don’t have any calendars hidden on either one as far as I know. It seems strange that this would suddenly happen though and I haven’t found anything in searches that would indicate something changes recently.
I started using the Google calendar app a few years ago on iOS because I liked the interface, but I have enough ADHD troubles that my calendar losing appointments is not very helpful! Some venues I work at use Google office and calendar for event info so I need to have at least that Google calendar show up if I switch back to apple’s calendar app.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had noticed this.

Do you need to resubscribe or reenable the calendars? For the Apple Calendar, it's in the Mail Accounts settings.
Oh, maybe, I will check that, thanks!
I haven't experienced this exact issue, but it sounds frustrating! It's strange that your Google and iCloud calendars aren't syncing properly after the OS update. Have you tried restarting your devices or checking for any updates for the calendar apps?
In the meantime, if you're looking for a workaround, I found a helpful tutorial on how to import iCal into Google Calendar at https://calendargeek.com/step-by-step-tutorial-how-to-import-ical-into-google-calendar/ . It might help you keep track of your appointments while you troubleshoot the syncing issue.
Yeah, I’ve checked out all sorts of things. Very strange. I just kind of checking into it, but this is a reminder that I should.
I switched to the google calendar app a few years ago because I liked the interface better than the stock calendar, and also several people that hire me use Google calendar for events, so it seemed to make sense. But I also think Apple and Google don’t ever want to fully work together.
I don’t like android anymore, although I did when I first got a smartphone because I was a Linux user back then. I switched to Mac, then iPhone and iPad, though, because the ecosystem is pretty seamless and I was finally getting work done in music rather than figuring the system and always having a “potentially better” system. I realized that being able to root your device and have control over everything was a recipe for having a non or poorly working device, like the person who has the car up on blocks “That will be amazing when I finally get it running!” And yes, I used to jailbreak my devices too, which worked even worse than a rooted android!
Anyway, if I actually ever figure out what happened and how to fix it I will definitely post here in case anyone else has the issue.
