Not a Cello - the album
I finished chapter 7.
I also changed the visuals and grouped the track in an albumon bandcamp for practical reasons but I'll keep adding the next tracks.

Lord that cello is so rich… those low notes are something else. I wish you made sampled instruments for sale.
Thanks @McD , I tailor my patches for my specific usages and habits, I’m not sure they would suit anyone else. None of my patches is really “load and play”. And like any of my money making endeavors, tha5 would be a lot of work for no significant result. I will try to make this cello easier to use, fin$ a way to 3xport it, pack it and share it for free.
I’ve listened to all seven now and I must say that I think they get better and better. No 7 was in my view the best.
The main reason for saying this is that (IMHO) some of the earlier ones sounded like a very good keyboard player (thats you 😊) playing something that happens to sound very much like a great cello. Something about the phrasing, dynamics, the fluidity of the runs… no idea really, i’m no expert.
No 7 on the other hand sounded (to me) like a good cellist playing a beautiful sounding cello.
Anyway, hope you done mind the comment… it’s a great album 🙏
Thank you @GeoTony for listening and pointing out the discrepancy: I see what you mean. #1 was made with the first version on the cello, #2 with the second version etc…
I definitely need to adapt all chapters to the final version you can ear in chapter 7. I really have to fix that.
I forgot to say that listening to your work put me in mind of Kodaly’s Solo Cello sonata… have you heard it? This is a good performance on video only 8 minutes long.
It is actually 8 minutes short in my opinion, and makes me feel super small.
I mean he is great and my sample digital imitation isn’t even remotely close.

Just listened to number 7. That cello goes right through me! Extremely realistic. I like the incidental room noise that you occasionally use. I feel like I’m at a live performance. This sounds like something Ravel would start a performance with. Notacello!

Very rich indeed! I'm sorry if I missed this in an earlier post, but how did you make the cello patch/sound/sample, whatever it is?

That is the base for the layers, then there are knobs and velocity controlling how the cello is played, bow speed, bow pressure, expressivity, super low speed vibrato, mix between the layers. I truly maxed out what obsidian can do in terms of zones and layers.
If I wasn’t that lazy, I’d remake that patch for audiolayer one zone for one note.
Cello is such a wonderful instrument to labor over. I’m glad you put in the effort and respect the results as represented by your album of cello focused solos.
