Launchkey Mini mk3 and iPad8 mobile MIDI settings...

HI everyone,
after over a year from my previous post with a quite equal title, I'm writing to ask an enlightment about my MIDI settings: after a long break I’m restarting to use Cubasis, last upgrade, with an Ipad 8th generation running IOS 17.1.2 with both Novation LaunchKey mini mk3 and LaunchControl XL together, and I think it can be a good configuration but I can’t understand (remember?)
why when I play on a MIDI instrument I hear also instruments on other tracks if I don’t solo the track I’m playing on…
Do I need to set specific MIDI channels for each instrument?
In the attachment you can see my MIDI settings.
Thank you for helping,
Art

  • Depends on your workflow. Usually, I used my Novation Launchkey mini mk3 to add ideas to a line, then record the next one. So, I'd solo it if I was producing or making quick edits combined with my Apple Pencil.

Using seperate MIDI channels is good, but it gets tricky to manage if you add'remove channels.

Alternatively, you can use something like AUM or Audiobus 3 to connect into Cubasis, and other external IAA apps and AUv3 apps.

I still think Ampify Groovebox is the app that currently makes the most of the Novation Launchkey mini. That's why I use Audiobus with my Novation Launchkey Mini mk3.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi @seonnthaproducer,
I’m sorry for my delay… Thank you very much for answering!
I solved my problem, eventually: if one needs to play a single midi track at once he has to check the highlighted option in the midi menu page of Cubasis settings (see attachment)
    Thank you again,

  • Is it possible to use all four presets of encoder settings in Launchkey mini mk3 via Components (or through mapping in the program)? For example, in Launchpad mini in Components, all modes can be customized.

  • Hi @solncekreeze, I didn’t test so far but here’s
what the manual says (see attachment)

  • Hope this is what you need!

Thanks I just thought maybe the new firmware added the ability to assign parameters to different modes. In any case, you need to check.

Thanks I read that. I was just wondering if something was added to the new firmware in terms of customization.

  • HI @solncekreeze, I'm not using the LK mini very much, recently, so I didn't check it yet but I'm planning to do as soon as I'll do it ....
