What Happened to the Akai APC40mk2
I was looking at finally picking one of these up, as I don’t really like the launchpad workflow fully.
But now I can’t find one in stock anywhere?
Did they really discontinue it for the new APC 64 with all the ugly touch strips (lol) ?
Any Ableton guys have any insight, maybe a new one is coming???
Guess I have to troll the used gear sites for one
Or recommend me your favorite controller setup for Live that isn't Push?
I have the launchpad pro mk3 but I’m just missing some more tactical feedback, knobs or something you know
Comments
They were apparently discontinued some time ago and it took a while for the remaining units in the supply chain to get sold out.

Reverb has a few listed for sale.
You may find the 64 to be ugly, but now that it can be used as a standalone device, I’m much more interested.

But there’s also the APC Mini Mk2. No knobs. But it has physical sliders

Akai produced the APC series not Ableton, so nothing I can add. They've become super popular with the live sound lighting crews though, most of the shows I've been to in my town the lighting guys are using APC40MK2's as controllers.
Seems like used prices have shot up crazy now
THanks for the info guys
