I had to LOL at all those power banks, but otherwise that's REALLY nice. How much does it weigh?

I did something similar for some Elektron boxes years ago, and made my own case out of wood. Looked beautiful, weight a ton 😂 Your's looks great though, that's very well done and I love that kind of set up.

oh yeah, i remember your case. It was a blue one, right? Looked great though 👍 The case is almost exactly 10kg (tiny bit less). 6 of 8 powerbanks are also very small and lightweight (5k pb) but i‘m not gonna lie, It IS a little bit annoying to fire up everything on battery 😂 But even more annoying that you can‘t just plug more gear into one powerbank. As soon as there is a second toy, chance for USB noise is really high 😬

But portability was not the only (maybe not even the main) goal. I won’t move it THAT much i guess, but easy to do if i want so.

I also wanted to eliminate a lot of clutter on my desk and it‘s tempting to work within a „closed system“. i‘m having more fun if i have some limitations. It forces and focus my creativity better,if that makes sense. Of course it‘s still quite powerful. i wish i could get rid of most/all of my (other) equipment. Basically, this case plus Logic pro to record/arrange/ mix the stuff would keep me busy for years. But unfortunately GAS is strong with this human being 🫠

You know what this reminds me off is this old app (not sure if it's even still around, I think it was called Tabletop if I'm not mistaken) where you could set down instruments and such in a modular fashion. :)

Tabletop, hah. Sure i remember that. From retronyms. Which means it was never an absolutely polished/finished app 😉

Tabletop was one of my earliest app buy regrets. Was so much fun and quite powerful, but always crashed on me within 10-15 minutes. :-/ Never looked back after discovering Caustic and Gadget.

I remember when it was launched it was gonna be “the next big thing” and then nothing really happened. And now it’s all but abandoned. Could’ve been really cool but everyone’s kinda moved passed it and discover other workflows.

Thanks for your comments, appreciate it 👍 I‘m happy that my „travel“ came to a very satisfying end now.

Btw, thats the evolution over one year. It all started with a wish for a small portable but powerful setup. That“portable“ thing is long gone though 😂 But that‘s why i bought the KOII now.

And last an inside pic and size comparison bigger vs smaller case.

Hi there and thanks for the sneak peak into your mobile setup!
What's this case on the right side and it's size?
It looks super neat and pretty much adaptable or my "portable" setup! :D
    Thanks for your help!

  • Don’t know how I missed this thread
    But wow great set up
I am a little bit jealous
    Happy beat making
