What’s the pedal he is using left of the MPC-live?

I think it’s just a delay/looper with a slow fade/off off used for example on the vocal snippet, on the mpc finger hits?

Anyone spot any other hidden daw/synths. Is this all the backing track on the MPC, with sampled instruments/synths on the novation keyboard, a 101. The two fx return chains into the mpc (the delay and two pedals under the mpc one looks maybe like a bass bigMuff) and then a oto bam compressor on the end? Shows that to have fun all we need to do is execute good ideas, not have crazy high end latest equipment.

Love the live use of the 101, shows how it is one of the most playable live synths ever made. And holy frack these boys have practiced their chops!

And that stutter/delay that keeps being brought in launchControlXL. I usually dislike shutter delays, but if you stack effects on the mpc you can get really creative.

    I think it's MIDI. Maybe a clock.

Similar to one of the gizmos from Disaster Area Designs.

  • Mooer Baby Tuner might be used as a kill switch. (TBH I know nothing about the topic).

I think your right, the ‘unknown pedal’ is a delay, and this is killing the input signal to it.

Thanks a lot. Your explanation gave me a deeper understanding of the context of this thread. If the good performance by Jersey was produced by the unknown/mystery delay pedal, I think it’s good to speculate about it.
(BTW, the last scene in the video is probably something we all have similar memories and experiences with).

  • Thanks. So the small pedal looks like a TC Electronic corona chorus? But that makes no sense, unless the kill switch is going to something else as well. So I guess the oto device is a Bin 12bit delay, and not a boum compressor. Acoustically that would make sense, as the delay has this slight harsh metallic/rig-mod like distortion to it, and he clicks the kill switch to stop or start the fading delay tails.

These tunes are so disgustingly catchy…. >:)

I don't know much about routing, so it's interesting to read your writing because it's like listening to Sherlock Holmes talking to himself. (So am I the famous army surgeon in this case? I’m honored). Then I read a web page where a routing of guitar effectors is explained, and I was convinced that the order of fuzz➡️chorus➡️delay makes sense.

    • This thread is very interesting to me. I don't have the knowledge or experience to look at a preset in MixBox app to decipher the thoughts of the preset author. I think it would be very interesting if every preset had a commentary like the one in this thread. (But I understand the importance of learning by ear by actually using FX to make sounds).
    • Probably there is no Jersey page on the equipboard.com yet, but it would be interesting to see it gradually updated in the future.
