SOLVED::Drum Sequencer That Supports 6/8 (perferably from the Host)

edited December 2023 in General App Discussion

Hi,
I'm using Loopy Pro, whose metronome can specify a time signature. I set it to 6/8 and I want a drum sequencer that can support 6/8....... WITHOUT work arounds. I have EG pluse, and while you can sync up the BPM to the host (a) there's no way to set it to 6/8 internally and (b) it can't read the time signature from the host.

ALTERNATIVES? That absolutely support 6/8; (where there is something in the app the clearly lets you select 6/8 time; no work arounds)

Thanks!!
AJ

  • Rozeta X0X does.

  • Most of the Lumbeat drummers do, but they're not au if that matters.

  • Beat Scholar

  • I’ve never used 6/8 with Octachron before but you can set a custom time signature in it.

  • @gusgranite soooOOoooo I have the Rozeta suite, including XOX. Yes, you can set the tempo to 6/8, but it doesn't sync to the host time. I have Loopy Pro as the host and I have the BPM sets to 150 and the time signature at 6/8. There's a metronome, so I can hear then metronome play the 1st beat of each measure. In XOX, I set the time signature to 6/8 and the BD (Bass Drum) to have 6 steps "thinking" since the time signature is 6/8 each of the 'six steps' will be one beat. I have the BD kick or play on the first beat - after the very first kick, it's not in line with the metronome in the host Loopy Pro

Each step is a 1/16 note. So, you should set the number of steps to 24 then place your beats every 4 steps.

  • Hi Everyone....... WELL..... although EG doesn't allow you to specific the uh, time signature properly. After playing around with it, you can specific the 'length' of a pattern. I can set it to 6 or 12, and get the equivalent of 6/8th time.

    Thanks for all your help!!
