Not sure what it reminds me of, but this track is very much 80s in all the best ways. (No sarcasm meant.) If I had one critique, I wouldn't call this track "Ambient" exactly, but honestly that's just me picking at straws. Bottom line - I love it. Well done. Very clear mix too.
Mix is too clear for signature 80s , but the idea of focus on the bass is cool
It's that 80s gated snare. It drives me crazy, ooh oh. Nice track.
Loving the snare sound. Did you use the stock Cubasis drum sounds?
Excellent work!
Yes very nice. Great use of Riffler. Even better on the second listen 👌
As a former bass player of 40 years, I always like a bass-focused song. I actually think this qualifies as Ambient by Brian Eno’s definition. He ought to know! I can either tune it out, listen very closely, or anything in between. Any scenario works.
Riffler is a blast. I think a little of the new Riffler Flow would sound nice in a few parts. Just my 2 cents.
Hehe, I was just wondering what to classify as and wasn’t too sure. Thanks for listening!
Thanks! I stumbled upon the riff and really wanted to highlight it.
Thank you!
Thank you!
I initially had a Hammerhead patch and pattern on it, but decided to try Ujam’s Vice once I moved the track to desktop. The pattern I teied added to the funky offbeat vibe so I decided to keep that. It also sounds more 80s than what I had originally.
Thank you for listening! Riffler remains irreplaceable for me when it comes to guitar and bass.
Thanks!
Other than when I input chord cadences, I treat Riffler very much like a radio station where I am changing the dial until something I like shows up.
Thanks for the suggestion on using Riffler Flow. I’m actually going to try it to see what happens. 👍
