Pinch me – I just got invited to an Auria Pro TestFlight!

I just got invited to an Auria Pro TestFlight!

I looked in the Auria forums to see if there was any mention of it, and I didn’t see anything. I haven’t investigated further.

I’m intrigued. Auria Pro is an ambitious piece of software. Some of you may recall I wrestled with stability like some other users. But plenty of people here got a lot out of it.

Set aside that I have replaced FabFilter with AUs, I still do have a lot of IAPs in Auria. And, heck, it’s a real DAW.

Rim deserves a lot of credit for pushing the heat of early iOS music software, and new apps like Logic for iPad lend legitimacy to the platform. It’s a great time to rerun the Auria experiment.

Comments

  • I would make sure it’s legit first. I’ve seen companies sell their apps and then the new devs change the company and invite people to “beta test”.

I have never heard of an app that appears in TestFlight not being legit. There is no reason to believe RIM sold the company.

The notes say that it addresses stability issues. Fingers-crossed.

I wasn’t insinuating that was the case but someone posted about an abandoned app and getting a test flight invite after years and that ended up being the case. That post was here a few weeks or so ago. And a Google search shows that it does indeed happen. Anyway just trying to give OP a heads up just in case. No reason to dissuade people from being vigilant.

  • So, before I download the TestFlight, I am actually having a blast revisiting the current version of Auria Pro. What happens to all of my IAPs if I download the TestFlight? Do I have to re-download them and have duplicate versions of them stored on my device twice? I guess I can forgo some of the IAP like fabfilter and just use them as audio units.

I am having so much fun with the current version right now, I, too I’m hoping to see some quality of life improvements in stability. I know that you are a pretty serious Auria user, so I hope this update serves you well.

  • Would be nice with a stability update since Auria pro has the best video viewer in a DAW on ios (at least to my knowledge)
I hoped that Logic would have this feature… maybe in the future 😎
AUvideoplayer works but is not even close to be as smooth as the videoplayer in Auria Pro

Funny you bring this up, because it’s one of the things I was reminded of this evening that I really like.

There was idle speculation about the StudioMux beta here.

  • I’ve noticed one or two updates to Auria

  • Represent us well @johnfromberkeley . Test the hell out of it, and then violate your non-disclosure agreement and tell us everything! I am ready for Auria to kick Logic Pro’s butt

  • I feel like the widower who sees his beloved on Tinder suddenly...

Auria Pro beta releases are mostly going to be bug fixes and addressing recent hardware. I wouldn’t expect major features.

    🤣🤣🤣

  • Guys, just fired up the old Auria Pro and it's rock solid for me! I was laying some audio tracks last night and it was such a pleasure to press record and voila!!! Love it!

  • Anyone tried doing a mix down on Auria Pro? I get a pop up saying creating mix down and nothing happens for a long time. I have to force quit then reopen my project. Thank goodness project works but mixdown doesn't work. Any ideas why?

  • I just realized mixdown works if the project was recorded at 44.1 resolution but the one that I'm trying to mixdown was recorded at 48k. Still can't figure this out.

  • Finally figured it out. In one of my vocals tracks, I has the Zmors EQ AU plugin inserted and as soon as I removed it, the mixdown processed worked!!!! I really liked that EQ butnI guess it's not supported anymore. But so glad I figured it out cause I was already loosing it. Lol

Yes it is well reported that Zmors EQ don’t play well with Auria. I use Tonebooster and IK Mixbox all the time. They never caused me a problem in Auria. Knock on wood.

Btw I only do mixing in Auria. But it is pretty complex mixes.

Thanks! I’ve been out of the loop for a while Lol, granpa duty, worship ministry, but so happy to see a lot of the AudioBus pioneers still around.

I got IK Mixbox but on pc, need to save for ios.
So far BYOD has mazed me with it’s effects.

  • By the way, the free Mixbox CS is totally amazing too! Really wish they made it universal for iPhone.
