Drone-n-Flute: "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" w/ Mariana
Of interest to this forum, the bass drone was produced with Moog Mariana but I was running into performance problems with my 7th Gen iPad. Even playing the single C note on the keyboard in Cubasis was crackling. (I didn't try to muck with the audio settings.) Fortunately I was able to freeze the track and proceeded.
I'm also using other newly acquired apps including Pro-R2 reverb and the MoogerFooger 109S saturation app (as a send effect, oddly).

Wow that was incredibly good. Very evocative and soothing. I love it.
Love it. Acoustic and “real” instruments mixed with synths is always candy to my ears. Great job 👏
A great interpretation of a great tune. Thanks for posting 🙏
This is a version by Christian Forshaw, an excellent saxophonist well worth checking out…
Thanks @jo92346 @HotStrange @GeoTony 🎅
The drone really worked on me… just for grins I made a screen recording and imported the audio through Koala and loaded the audio into AUM and applied the amazing Brusfri app to see if I could remove the drone and just leave the flutes. It also removed significant amount of flute when it got near the drone frequency but the drone was gone.
I had used Brusfri on my iPhone while a walked along the ocean shore hoping to isolate the sound of Oyster Catchers which would a lot like plastic whistles. It worked pretty well to lower the persistent found of the surf and let me just hear birds and the sound of my own feet on the dirt trail in my earphones. A cheap man’s noise canceling implementation after purchasing AUM and brusfri.
Lovely work. The synth drone and acoustic flutes meld so well.
@McD i use Brusfri all the time. Almost every track recorded with a microphone gets sent through it first to cut down on room noise.
Did you want a "just flute" version of this for something? I'd be happy to post or send
@Svetlovska thanks!
Thanks but no… I just wanted to experiment. I think I need to run this experiment again and capture the drone at the the start to train Brusfri and then see how it behaves when the flute starts.
EDIT: Yes. Much better results training Brusfri on the initial drone only. Sorry for the somewhat off track comments but it does let your creation live on the front page for more views which is generally a good thing for creative content.
