Quick/bulk MIDI mapping?

I've landed on a pretty nice layout for my Digitakt-extender. Each bank has it's own page (A-H) and within there are 12 clips (2 per color) that I want to use as extra tracks for the DT, which means I want them to be triggered by it, as well. I can obviously painstakingly go through and map them all to MIDI notes from the DT MIDI channels, but that means doing it for 96 different clips. That seems insane. Is there a better way to bulk map/link hardware?

  • Not that I know of. Using MIDI Learn it probably won’t take more than a few minutes, though.

Unfortunately, the way it's set up, it's gonna take forever. Need to change midi channels and note assignments. Oh well!

I don’t understand, all you have to do is turn in midi learn, tap the clip you want to control , press the button on your digitakt that you want to trigger it and move on the next item. Mid learn will pick up the note and channel sent.

I mapped 16 pads from my Launchkey in about one minute this way.

Trust me, if it were that quick on the Digitakt, I’d have just done it already. Haha.

    1. Choose clip
    2. Choose Digitakt track
    3. Choose midi channel
    4. Choose appropriate note on the trig page, or switch to keyboard mode and make sure you hit the right note.
    5. Trigger
    6. Go back to 1

Do this 96 times. It’s more due to the way I am organizing things in a template, but oh well!
