Digistix pad shortcuts

edited December 2023 in General App Discussion

Hi every one,
as you can see in the attached image in Digistix help manual four shortcuts are showed but I can only get two: up and down swipes, nothing happens if I slide left or right…
Is this a known issue or am I missing something?
Thank you very much,
Art

  • Hi,

they work fine when working in standalone mode. But not when used as a auv3 plug in.

    Maybe a design limitation.

  • Maybe you could try using the app called Mozaic, as a workaround in AUV3

  • Hi @WTK ,
in my case the don’t work even in stand alone mode…

@dasgoods: I would need them before using DS as an AUV, when programming kits and/or patterns…

It’s not a major issue, for the truth, but when I encounter a problem I’m always curious to understand why…

    Thank you both for answering,

Hi again @WTK, I realized I was trying to use shortcuts (left, right swipes) with default/gm kit that it’s not possible to edit but when I tried them with a new kit, created from scratch, they would work 👍🏻

I can confirm they don't work when in auv mode inside Cubasis.

  • @arfo62, the official support email address is support @ 4pockets.com. Sometimes responses are quick and other times not so much. I've also heard that contacting through the developer's social media accounts is effective. @4pockets_paul does sometimes stop by here, but that's probably not as reliable a way to contact him.

  • Thank you @wim, for the good advice, I hadn’t considered the official support, actually, but I’ll do it for sure.
I purchased the app some months ago but I’m seriously aproaching it only recently and I think it has a very good potential!

    🤷🏻

The website has been broken forever. But the email address I gave you is good.
Paul communicates via his social media channels mostly.
Odd, I know. But the guy is a coding monster.

  • I've heard he's responsive to comments on his Youtube videos. Never tried it myself.

  • @arfo62, Good catch on the changes in swipe behavior in AUv3 mode. Just to confirm, you are using Digistix 2? I can add to that. If you're working in a User bank (editable), you can swipe right on a pad to record, however Digistix 2 must be loaded as an AUv3 effect so that it can receive audio to record. Swiping left is doing something odd or me - in standalone mode it brings up a dialog with the title Folders and shows folder names Songs / Samples but no content. in AUv3 mode, it does nothing. You can, however, long press on the pad and it will bring up all of the options that you get with left/right swipe and much more. Again, you will get lots more options when you have loaded a kit from the User bank.

If you (or anyone) really want to get the most out of Digistix 2, I heartily recommend watching the videos on Paul's YouTube channel, which @wim has referenced. There are dedicated videos for it as well as other videos where he goes over the features and uses of multiple apps, since he makes so many enhancements after the initial release. I've spent hours going over the videos and still haven't absorbed all of the content yet - these apps are deep! If you're interested in a video on a particular area of Digistix and you feel it hasn't been covered in what you can find, please let me know because I'm planning to do some more tutorials on 4Pockets apps.

  • HI @EdZAB,
    sorry for my delay...
Yes I'm using DS2; thank you for clarifications and hints! :)
If you would be so kind to share your channel I would definitely interested in watching your tutorials; no topic in particular at the moment to ask for but some integration to Paul's ones it's ok...

My channel is pretty small but there are a couple tutorials on other apps. I plan to do more on 4Pockets in the future, including DSX2. DSX2 is featured interacting on one of the videos on BeatHawk, though. If you have a particular 4Pockets app that you would like to see covered, let me know because I've used most of them.
