Acoustic guitar sample library on iOS?
Is there a good quality acoustic guitar sample library or modelling available on iOS? Tried a couple free libraries on Decent Sampler but would be willing to pay for quality. The acoustic guitar sounds on Logic Pro are OK, but not exactly convincing.
On the desktop I use Orange Tree but understand the size would be impractical on iOS.

Pianoteq has modeled acoustic - You can check out that and all the other paid instruments extensively enough in the free version
Sampled or modeled?
I’ve just got ifretless guitar and only spent a few minutes with it but I like the acoustics in this.
Pianoteq has modeled nylon string guitar only
There some good free soundfonts out there, as well as free SFZ and EXS24 patches that can go into AudioLayer.
You have Steel Guitar Pro which sounds pretty dang good by Yonac.
There’s the one by Blue Mangoo, but don’t have that one.
Geosherd but not necessarily that super clean guitar sound.
Sorry, I wrote sampled, meant to write modeled
To my ears, the best current retail IOS acoustic guitar is the American Acoustic IAP in Sampletank for IOS.
Appears to have genuine round robin samples, and sounds just as good as the well regarded Kontakt instruments from companies like Orange Tree and Indiginus.
Sampletank isn't an AUv3 though - still only IAA.
Also, it always (every time) eventually ends up freezing on my iPad when I use it in Auria Pro or AUM.
Turning off WiFi or Cellular for me seems to help it stay stable in standalone mode.
The nylon guitar in Pianoteq is great and ran through Nembrini’s acoustic voice can sound very close to a realistic steel string guitar. That’s generally my go to.
The Stella and 12 String Acoustic sets for DS are really good too. I’ve heard iFretless is good but haven’t tried myself.
There’s a guitar pack for Xinematix but I haven’t tried it. The app is free to download and you can demo the sound set for free if you wanna see for yourself. I think Thumbjam is pretty good as well.
Outside of that it’s the usual suspects. PSP, the Taqsim apps, etc. which are all decent but far from perfect. Ran through the acoustic voice app most of them sound serviceable though. But nothing is desktop quality besides Pianoteq.
@HotStrange :I never even knew about Nembrini ac voice, thanks!
No prob! It’s really great in my experience. Blue Mangoo also has one but I haven’t tried it.

Wow, what a great tip that is! Just bought the Nembrini acoustic voice and I have to agree, the demo of the Pianoteq nylon guitar through it sounds great. Much appreciated
wow I slept on this one! the electric jazz even sounds quite good with distortion!
One question: does the stage version allow you to deactivate all effects? (Amp and reverb)
Thanks
Why don't you like Sculpture? It should be a really good modeling engine. It works fine with the Logic internal keyboard when you select Polyphonic Pichbend and Y-Mapping. I know it's a bad UI port, but the sound and features are the same as on the desktop.
Darn you, @HotStrange, now I have another Nembrini app! But it works fantastically on the Sculpture. 😂
What size is it? I have some pianos over 2gigabytes that i use n my now ancient iPad 6.
Yep. Stage allows you to have a completely dry signal if you want. Though the built in effects are really great too, imo.
Agree on the electric jazz preset. It sounds great through Rhino or ToneX.
Awesome, glad you were able to get some use out of it
😂😂😂 seems like I’m 3/3 in this thread. Nembrini needs to give me a cut damnit 😆
It does, even though so far I seem to still get better results with the soundfont I'm using which is a shame because it's really great to have those articulations with pianoteq 🥹 I hope they're secretly working on an electric guitar too, but it's probably unlikely hehe
Man if Modarrt released a modeled guitar I’d lose my mind 😆 we can only hope 🤞
I’d love Modartt to do a steel string acoustic- the nylon is lovely but as someone who has used desktop guitar sample libraries a lot, an emulation of a lovely old Martin or Gibson J-45 is so much more versatile and gets used a lot more.
Btw, which is the best on desktop? I've been meaning to get a nice steel string library for my studio.
@bluegroove This is my go to…30% off at the moment if use Holiday2023 at checkout. Absolutely stunning IMHO

Much appreciated 👍
What I would reeeally love would be a general guitar plugin. Acoustic (Nylon and Steel), and various electric and amp models. I’d pay top dollar for that.
+1 for sure
Blue Cat Audio is great at the kind of sound shaping needed for this, but their products are desktop only.
On desktop they outshine all the other virtual amps on the market IMO.
Maybe we should all mass email them to come to iOS 😂
Just been listening to a demo of the Halion IAP in Cubasis 3.6 - I think this may be the answer re acoustic guitar sounds!
I think you read my mind. I’m watching a demo now and was just about to post here that there are some very nice sounding samples in it haha
