giga studio conversation
hey guys,
does someone know how to use giga studio files in audiolayer?
or how to convert that format to wav/esx24/sfz etc...?
Comments
I think you need something like chicken system translator
https://www.chickensys.com/products2/translator/
Or extreme translator
https://www.extranslator.com/
I have tried it a few times, I could translate Akai sample discs to EXS24 and wave. But importing in Audiolayer is still hit and miss.
Problem was the samples don't load as it should (wrong samples, or problem with mono/stereo), and the tuning and panning settings got lost in the translation.
SFZ didn't work with me either.
Importing native ESX24 files works better.
That chicken system web site is like a museum. Not seen one of those Zip Discs in ages.
yes this stuff is pretty obsolete.... I think Extreme sample convertor has a demo to try and see if it works.
If you have the patience, you can rebuild a sample program by hand if you have the wave files available. You can read al the settings in the convertor program, and set it up that way in Audiolayer.
yes, its a bit hit and miss. even with a few sfz i have problems to import,sm drums for instance.
error format could not....
i remember having akai converted in extreme sample converter, i check that again.
I'd either try importing Giga in Logic Pro's sampler or check out Awave Studio.
