MuseBud and more: From Beyond
“I saw the attic laboratory, the electrical machine, and the unsightly form of Tillinghast opposite me; but of all the space unoccupied by familiar material objects not one particle was vacant. Indescribable shapes both alive and otherwise were mixed in disgusting disarray, and close to every known thing were whole worlds of alien, unknown entities.” - From Beyond
Lovecraft was an avid follower of the cutting edge scientific theories of his day. His horrifying and imaginative spin on the possibility of parallel universes as hinted at by Einstein, in the short story ‘From Beyond’ , (written in 1920, but not published until June 1934, available along with everything else he wrote, here: https://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/fiction/fb.aspx), may well be the first appearance of a science based multiverse in fiction.
This is an ‘atmosphere’ responding to that story, rather than a more structured piece. Something which might add some sonic texture to a Lovecraft RPG session, for example…
MuseBud provided the kernel of it, and I took that ball and ran with it, or rather, recorded it into Atom, then, ahem, ‘improvised’ a little via KB1, driving Factory, a fistful of Decent Samplers, (Including a particularly wonderful instrument called Coro Di Cicale, which is field recordings of cicadas turned into a lovely, flexible instrument), new fave texture machine Relic Waves, and the usual reverbs, live mixed to AudioShare as is my wont.
Enjoy, I hope, a piece a tad more ambient in the sense of something intended to function aural backdrop than some of my recent things. I am striving for a less is more approach. All comments eagerly invited, of course.

Good story, one of the few good movie adaptation of HP’s work.
And an exceptional soundscape that really captures the essence of the theme.
Love all the electric sounds in this track. The Shadow over Innsmouth is my favorite Lovecraft story.
Not as dark as I expected from the story, another excellent piece of work👌
Now if someone would just make a silent movie to go along with this.
Excellent work!
Good work !
Atmosmoodic!
