800,000 Dominos

  • That's gotta be a new world record jfc mate! 😱

  • I’d be afraid of sneezing or farting if I went in that room. Those guys must have an incredible amount of patience and dexterity to set that up.

Crazy! I wonder how long it took them to set it all up.

Edit: Read the video description. It took 30 people 2 weeks to setup the 800,000 dominoes. I thought it would’ve taken longer. Impressive.

  • Imagine if the camera operator tripped over a run…

  • Thanks for sharing @LinearLineman. Amazing!

  • I gotta believe they have fail safes installed to avert catastrophe. I also noticed some structures didn’t come down completely but doesn’t diminish the result. I also kept thinking of monks making mandalas. Both instances of beauty destroyed in minutes and seconds. Such is life.

I saw a short film on setting these things up some years ago. They go to great lengths to isolate the different areas to avoid a wholesale failure, and only put the final dominos in place just before they set it off.

You could see genuine pain in people’s faces when they talked about previous occasions when they lost a few thousand dominos to accidents.

I can’t imagine how they would feel if it happened just before they were about to go.
