Thank you kindly! Wanted to put my own spin on it a bit without changing it up TOO much

  • Is that LowTone on the bass? Sounds sick 🔥 great job!

Hell yeah it is! I LOVE LowTone and it might be my favorite bass synth 😎

Thank you for the kind words 😃

  • Nicely done. LowTone is a favourite over here too

    Thank you… much appreciated!

  • Lovely... and thank you for prompting me to read up on the original Ukrainian song Shchedryk. I had no idea about its origin!

Wow! I have been hooked on a mandolin version of “Carol of the Bells” for years, but after hearing this version…wow, this is what synth apps were made for, you have used them spectacularly, brilliant production 🏆

I just realized I should’ve used Pure Acid at some point on this, as it would’ve been appropriate due to its roots!

Thank you SO much… that means a heck of a lot to me!

I realized I forgot to put Mood in the list of apps used…and the patch I did was a wee bit out of tune 😂

  • Outstanding! Superb arrangement, performance, and production. Extremely well done. If I recall correctly, you work with your daughter from time to time. It immediately reminded me of this Christmas classic by Trans Siberian Orchestra. I love this video.

Yup …that was actually our inspiration! Although my wife and I separated and I’m currently living at a rehab shelter, we not only are on friendly terms and working towards possible reconciliation down the line , we still discuss band business as 3/6 of the group are her and I along with our 16 year old daughter Jaymie (we all work virtually anyway, as our bandmate Dino -a multi instrumentalist - will add overdubs to the tracks I do , and vice versa , and Jay will add live bass or keys too whenever she can ) had actually suggested us covering this LAST Christmas but at the time I
didn’t have any third party AU synths and was limited to the stock GarageBand stuff, and it was coming out IMHO a bit sterile and lifeless, especially since we were using the GB guitars but as a keyboard instrument as opposed to the touch guitars; for this version I used Mood in its place , which is why that one line is a wee bit flat !

I’m glad I waited to do this… it was well worth it IMHO (and I’m usually my own worst critic lol )

  • Very cool! I’d rather listen to this style than Trans Siberian Orchestra. Anyway it was fun and sounded good.

  • Fantastic interpretation, very enjoyable. Hope things get better for you in 2024 👍🥁
