Musix Pro gets first update in 5 years!
I love this app but I had begun to fear it had become abandonware, but it just got an update:

If you don’t know the app, Musix Pro gives a wide variety of playing surfaces based on a bunch of different layouts: Linnstrument, Janko, etc.
iFretless Guitar also just got an update recently after 5 years, so this is really cool. Great apps being revived!

Oh cool! I was contemplating buying this a few weeks back but passed because I thought it was abandoned. Might have a serious look at it after the new year.
I’d say it’s definitely worth getting now - take a look at this message from the developer that popped up after I updated:
Beta: Many New Features Coming
We are actively adding a ton of new features. This means a few bugs may slip through, please let us know of any issues you have. Tap on the Shiverware logo in the toolbar and then support to send us your issues.
Is it standalone/IAA only?
Unfortunately, it looks like it is. I was hoping that they’d add AUv3 to this new release but it doesn’t look like they did.
Perhaps they’ll add it in the future since they say they’re planning to add many new features.
Cool, thanks! I’m gonna look more into after the holidays. Looks great so far though.
It really is unique on iOS. It has numerous hexagonal layouts, including Janko and Wicki-Hayden and several square (grid) layouts like the Linnstrument.
I really like that it has the Janko layout since there is no other iOS app that I am aware of that has it. There are several apps now that feature a square Linnstrument style layout, since they have become more popular with Ableton and Bitwig both using that layout. But Janko is still not well known, yet it’s very cool!
I haven’t even looked into it so I’ll have to look it up. I never bothered with alternative playing surfaces until the last 1-2 years so I’m still learning it. Thanks for the heads up though! I’ve definitely heard that name but just haven’t seen anything about it yet.
Here’s a thread I started about the Janko keyboard layout or, well, more specifically, about how I was looking for such a layout.
A forum member then actually made a Janko keyboard in Surface and posted it! You can download the zip. So cool.

Oh cool thanks! I’m always looking out for more playing styles to get inspired by. I don’t have Surface Builder but that build looks very sleek.
