Nembrini AR Delay
I really like the Nembrini Analog Rack Delay. I have set it up in AUM for live performance synced to a footswitch. My problem is that I cannot get AUM to retain a preset. Even though I have the preset saved in AUM and then save the session in AUM the default for AR Delay loads every time the session is called.
Any help will be appreciated. I am using it on a iPhone 6s for a minimalist setup.

Are you sure you loaded it as Audio Unit Extension, not Inter-App Audio? When loaded as IAA, it will not be able to save state.
Edit: Just tested, and the AUv3 state is saved, as expected.
Thankyou for your quick reply. I am loading it as an AUv3. I just tested it on my iPad as opposed to the phone and it did save properly.
I went back to the phone and tried to save a factory preset but again only the default would load.
Then I tried setting all the knobs to zero ( so I could recognize the preset easily) and named it “Defaultnew”. It saved correctly 😀.
I believe that it will not save a factory preset correctly but that is OK with me. Thinking that I just have to rename a factory preset if I need to use one. At least I have a solution.
Thanks for your help.
It may not show the preset name when restored, but the values should be correct.
Edit: Just tried saving an AUM session after selecting a factory preset. It restored with the correct values, and the preset name. Since it fails on your iPhone, there may be some problem there, due to iOS version, etc. I'm testing on iPad 6 with iPadOS 17.2 (current version).
I just tried it to see.
The values are not correct when I restore a factory preset via a session load on my iPhone 6s iOS 15.8. I had saved the 1-4 preset. The default instead is loaded which has 1/8 triplets. This is how I first noticed the problem.
My problem is solved by renaming presets. If you want to pursue further to help fix a bug I am willing to help.
Thanks so much. This forum and YOU are a tremendous resource 👍
I see. It seems like, in Sync mode, AR Delay does not correctly save the Time value, in either a user preset or in the AUM session. On restoring, it reverts to the value in the last loaded Factory preset. This only affects Sync mode; the Time value is saved correctly when Sync is Off. It seems likely that there are two Time values, a float value for the ms, and an int for the note interval. And the int is not being updated when a preset or session is saved.
You might want to report your experience to Nembrini, since it seems like something is actually broken there.
Exactly what I noticed as well. Good catch! Would love a fix from Nembrini.
Yes. I sent them my report on their contact page. You can reach it from the hamburger menu in the app. Maybe if we gang up, it'll get his attention.
I received a reply from Nembrini. It's a known issue, and will be fixed in an update. No timeframe suggested, though. Might need to find another tempo-synced delay app in the meantime.
Well I hope my report of the problem helps in some way. I thought I had it fixed but that was not the case. Instead of waiting I bought the BLEASS delay which is very good IMHO.
