Drambo again!

I used:

Synths:

SynthMaster Player
Twin3
Zeeon
King of digital

Other:

Drum Computer sequencing GR-16 drums
Fab filter pro C2 and Q3
Riffler
Scaler 2
Audiokit Reverb

I made it in Drambo and exported it into iPad Logic Pro for mastering. Logic Pro’s mastering tool is fantastic.

  • Incredible! It’s amazing the things we can do on an iPad. Twenty years ago this would have cost at least $10,000 to do in a professional studio. I have been hesitant about taking the Drambo plunge, but this might have pushed me over the edge. Nice work!

    Thank you @Paulieworld!

Completely agree with you. Today I counted my music apps. I have 267!!! If those were hardware plus a professional studio, we’re probably talking $1,000,000+.

We owe a lot to our great independent music app developers. Especially @Michael who was instrumental in making it possible to make real music on iOS.

  • Sounds great! I just picked Drambo the other day in the sale, so am yet to experiment. Christmas sales are sucking my wallet dry, but having the apps is just the start, have to learn them all.

As someone just getting into music making, I'm curious about people's production processes. How long would you say it took you to make this?

  • That mixing and mastering is great! Cool track too. Nice work!

Thank you @SixByNine! I hear you about the Christmas sales. :-)

I don’t really have a set workflow but I usually create 1 scene and build up things from there based on what sounds good to me. Sometimes I start with a riff or chord progression, or I start with the bass line, or I make a drum loop and build things around it.

It took about a week but I was working on it here and there. It can be done in much less time if you focus and don’t keep tweeting.

It took a couple of days, off and on, to compose, and then another day to mix, and it took literally 10 mins to master with Logic Pro’s mastering tool, which is simply amazing.

If you’re just getting started, I’d say start with GarageBand or Korg Gadget. Drambo can be intimidating in the beginning because there is so much you can do with it. If you are interested in learning the ins and outs check out Leo’s SoundForMore Drambo tutorials playlists:

There is a ton there. The first few videos are what you need to focus on to get you going. The rest are great for reference. I’ve been working with Drambo for a year now and I still go to Leo’s tutorials (Thank you @SMF!)

Once you get a hang of it, you’ll find there is nothing else quite like it, on the iPad or Mac. And it is now also available on Mac with M chips.

    Thanks for listening!

    Thank you my friend!

  • Nice!

I don't get why your link doesn't get embedded in the page here though.

Thank you @Pxlhg! I have no idea. I was wondering the same.

  • From what I’ve seen: If you use a desktop browser, I think it will auto embed. Us mobile users don’t get that handy feature.

  • Very nice start to the piece, the middle was good and I enjoyed the ending… does that cover everything 🤨

  • Amazing arps! Cool track

  • nice track..good vibes:)
