Madness Fusion (Jazz? /Video)

Made from a crazy Songen output using the multi-genre option and the new variance slider set to max (total madness). Loads of editing of the midi data to get it somewhat sane, but still not 😁

NanoStudio2 to Logic. Not many effects used except the usual suspects. Headphones recommended. 🎧 Video made from an abstract drawing and then some, finalised with JamCam. Don't forget to increase YT quality if watching/listening here.

  • This reminds me of mid-eighties King Crimson with Adrian Belew, Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, and of course Robert Fripp. Experimental jazz but with an underlying theme that gets into your head.

    Great! Thanks for listening.

I was thinking the same thing! Very Discipline sounding. Great stuff @Pxlhg! Are you using the subscription of Songen? I have the free version and it’s nice but you run out of plays quickly.

I paid for a month and have saved up on various potent midi embryos. It has become so much better than it was in the beginning and the export to NS2 or Cubasis (Roland Zen is an option too) is awesome. It's real fun mixing genres as you can get some quite original stuff. The new variance slider is also a great idea taking songs to the unexpected.

Oooo I haven’t tried the variance slider yet, I’ll take a look at it later thanks! Agreed on the ability to mix genres though. It’s a really cool idea. It can also lead to some weird and bizarre stuff too when you start mixing things like country and techno and jazz 😂 and having sample import is cool. One thing I like to do is add some weird experimental/noisy sample of my own to run alongside the track. Makes for some cool moments.

Might have to buy a month myself. Does it let you access everything you’ve saved after the subscription runs out?

Not sure but I doubt it. Export export export.

I thought that would be the case too. I’ll wait until I upgrade iPads and then buy a month. Thanks :)

  • Agree with @MadeofWax about sounding like KC which can only be a good thing 👍
