    Me too 😎

  • And why worrying about making a GUI, just take a picture of your device and use that instead! :D

  • I wanted one of these so badly when I was in my early 20s. Simply couldn't afford it, and looking back I doubt I would have known what to do with it 😂

Keen to check the ios version out when it launches

    😂

  • This and the SP1200 emulation are the 2 things I’m most excited about next year app-wise. And Patterning 3 of course.

  • I’m a bit cynical (like hey.. its almost 2024, IMO theres better samplers and sequencers you could run in AUM etc)…but if it works for some people its no bad thing.

  • I’m skeptical about the advantage of skeuomorphic designs on a 2D touch screen, but it’s cool that someone did this and the SP. I guess it’s more for those who used the hardware?

I had the original MPC app with the hardware style layout but it didn’t help me use it because I had not intimately used the hardware.

But anyway I’d give this a try.

  • Still got my mpc2000. Got this app on desktop. Bit buggy but that was a while ago

  • As someone who's often into producing HipHop, I am definitely interested to check this app out!

  • I have a force…I said that like I have a hulk…
    Yes I did =)

Skeumorphic UIs are hit and miss with me. I love the way AudioThing and GSI have done it but sometimes it gets a bit grating. But for this and the SP1200 I totally get it since the look is such a big part of the appeal.

  • I may be wrong but I don’t believe this does any sound character emulation of the mpc, but it’s a 1-1 match for the original workflow right?

Fair warning for those unfamiliar with old school mpcs, patience is a virtue!

You are correct! And your warning is good advice!

Maybe it's just me, but without the sound character being emulated, is their much point beyond some deja vu factor? What I remember from my old rack sampler and synths is aching limbs and frustration. I'm glad you've mentioned this!

To be honest I have so many apps that add 'character', that even if added I'm not sure I'd want to battle the ancient workflow :p

    From the developer

  • I’ve been dreaming of an early MPC port to iOS for a long time. Can’t wait. 🙌🏼

  • I don‘t think any MPC coming after the MPC60 has any significant character on it‘s own. o:)
The „character“ that‘s associated today with these machines originates from the (studio) environments where those sampling sessions took place...

  • 🏆 VMPC2000XL will launch completely FREE of charge with no IAP!! Public beta will be offered in the meantime. Expected in the coming weeks

  • I’d love to be proven wrong but I can’t see what use this has apart from (sometimes painful) nostalgic value - having said that I can appreciate the time and work it took to recreate the moving parts

I don’t think there’s any “proving anyone wrong”. Some apps work for some and not for others. Simple as that.

  • So where the hell is this app?

Having owned every generation of MPC from the 60 on, I somewhat agree with this. 3000 had a sound, but every MPC past that sounded pretty neutral.

Ok…so coming from having bought an Mpc 2000 when it first came out and using it for almost 10 years…THIS is what I was expecting when the first Impc first came out….the classic Mpc workflow….as ancient as it is….once the muscle memory kicked in you could just be really productive on it, or at least I could. My first impressions after about 45mins of messing around, I’m loving it. A lot of the features and functionality are still there exactly where I remember them….and for those who wonder what use it has….YOU CAN SEQUENCE USING THE SOUNDS VIA AUM!!! Yup, you can use AUM as your sound source and the Mpc 2000xl as your sequencer😍❤️ I’m still trying to figure out how to sync them together so one starts the other. I actually have an Mpc Live 2, but this is a lot of fun already !
Update…wow..I didn’t realize it could be loaded as an au inside AUM also….this is definitely going to be my sequencer for AUM now 🙌🏼

DOPE! I need to install the beta ASAP

  • @Strizbiz thanks for info etc. I still have my mpc2000 hardware.
How does the downpitch / tuning and filter sound ?
In the settings photo I see sample rate 48000. Is this fixed or can it be varied?
    Thanks in advance

I hope the dev gets rid of that brown lino / wood on the edges. It’s the same on the desktop version.
Makes the app look a bit unfinished

  • My friend wanted to contribute a vector interface for it (for free), but he's quite busy lately. Actually I texted him yesterday to remind about it.
