Sketches Of Pain
Another horn duo of SWAM Trumpet and Euphonium. It’s the best combination, for me, in this context. House Mark 1 works great here in tandem with Pianoteq Steinway D. BeatHawk Total Bass rounds it out.

Wow. OK, let's get the pun out of the way, which is why I listened in the first place: A great pun!
And the piece itself is very moving. Amazing that this feels like an ensemble with each instrument talking to the others — and taking their licks when the opportunity presents itself. And as a bass player, I have to commend you for letting the bass enjoy itself a little, too.
Like the one before, I really love the more intimate feeling. Less in your face, not quieter, just more like being at the blue note hiding in the back of the room with a glass and a bottle of larceny barrel proof.
I really love that new direction
Thank you @ExAsperis99 for the kind and affirming feedback. The BeatHawk Total Bass has a realistic sound, I think. I might try the SWAM double bass when it comes on sale. I’ve heard some good usage of it. Maybe you’d like to add a bass part to Death of a Dandelion? There’s room for a bass,I just didn’t think I could do it justice. Happy New Year, bro!
Thanks @jo92346 i actually played at the BlueNote (once) and Birdland, too. It was a long, long time ago.
I knew it!!!!
I didn’t hear any pain in this. Actually, it made me feel… let me look up a few words… exuberant, ebullient, enthralled, enraptured, engaged… That’s just the E’s. I haven’t got all night.
You would have liked Joe Segal’s Jazz Showcase here in Chicago. Maybe not Joe, himself. He was a bit of a dick, but he got the best players. Happy New Year! I started celebrating already!
Really nice chord and bass work on this one.
A wonderful blend of sounds. I especially enjoyed the piano and keys, but those horns steal the show.
Thanks @Paulieworld did I inspire you to do your latest jazz track? Haven’t listened yet but shall.
Thx @McD i like this one, too.
Thank you @MadeofWax the muse was with me on this one.
Loved the play on words, loved the music 🙏
You know I’m gonna like this one. Anything Miles like has my attention. Very good! You played those licks like a real horn player would. Yeah I think the bass sounds very realistic.
Thanks @GeoTony and @Dav for the praise.
