  • I'm going to use it to create a worldwide hit pop song:

I'll try to create a song about a seahorse named Bubbles.

    [Verse 1]
Bubbles is a seahorse, with a smile so wide
Swimming in the ocean, with the rising tide
Bubbles is a creature, so full of grace
With a tail that curls, and a beautiful face

    [Chorus]
Bubbles, Bubbles, swimming in the sea
Bubbles, Bubbles, so happy and free
Bubbles, Bubbles, with a heart so true
    Bubbles, Bubbles, we love you!

    [Verse 2]
Bubbles is a friend, to all the fish and more
Sharing all the secrets, of the ocean floor
Bubbles is a hero, to all the creatures here
With a spirit so strong, and a heart so clear

    [Chorus]
Bubbles, Bubbles, swimming in the sea
Bubbles, Bubbles, so happy and free
Bubbles, Bubbles, with a heart so true
    Bubbles, Bubbles, we love you!

    [Outro]
Bubbles, Bubbles, you light up our world
With your shining spirit, and your flag unfurled
    Bubbles, Bubbles, we'll never forget
The joy that you bring, and the love that you've met.

  • I gave it free rein to write me an interesting song on any topic it thought would be popular. I can't help but feel it doesn't know what popular is 😂

"___Certainly! Here’s a whimsical little song for you:

    Banana Serenade

    (Verse 1)
In a sunny orchard, where the breeze does sway,
A banana sat, ripening day by day.
Yellow and curved, with a hint of green,
    Dreaming of adventures yet unseen.

    (Chorus)
Oh, banana, banana, you're my fruity delight,
Your peel so bright, your flavor just right.
From breakfast to lunch, and snacks in between,
You're the star of the show on my kitchen scene.

    (Verse 2)
You've traveled from tropics, across the sea,
A humble fruit with a sweet pedigree.
In smoothies and splits, you steal the scene,
Banana, oh banana, you're the real MVP.

    (Chorus)
Oh, banana, banana, you're my fruity delight,
Your peel so bright, your flavor just right.
From breakfast to lunch, and snacks in between,
You're the star of the show on my kitchen scene.

    (Bridge)
Peel me gently, reveal your golden hue,
A burst of energy, a potassium coup.
In banana bread, you rise and shine,
A symphony of sweetness, oh, how divine!

    (Chorus)
Oh, banana, banana, you're my fruity delight,
Your peel so bright, your flavor just right.
From breakfast to lunch, and snacks in between,
You're the star of the show on my kitchen scene.

    (Outro)
So here's to you, banana, my tropical friend,
May your days be sunny, your journey never end.
In this fruity ode, I sing your praise,
Banana, oh banana, you light up my days.

Feel free to hum along or add your own verses! 🎶🍌___"

  • Thanks, this is nice, especially because it enables free access to GPT4 which is otherwise available directly just via mothly subscription 👍👍👍👍

The Bing app does this too.

I have to mention this just because it's so laughable: I signed up for the free version of ChatGPT using the App Store app from them and then I asked it to give me a simple, fun math quiz and it kept insisting the answer I gave it was wrong every time I answered, a total of 3 times. On the 4th time it admitted I was right (and my answer was correct)! I immediately deleted the app. LOL.

  • I'm not too familiar with AI stuff, but when i use chatGPT on the openAI website (3.5) it seems to have better and much faster responses than in Copilot

Unfortunately, in the past few months, OpenAI has turned GPT from a scientific experiment into a "product", which means cutting cost as much as possible until the product is just barely acceptable without consumers burning the company HQ down.

It's okay, it's capitalism! However, I'd gladly pay $200 / month (if I had them) for the original!

I'm currently using Playgrounds, where you can actually select older gpt-4 models and where "custom instructions" (called "System" here) actually still seem to be working, unlike in the regular ChatGPT where they seem to be largely ignored.

Also, no constant "This input may violate our terms and conditions" warnings in Playgrounds!

I did notice on the iOS version of the Copilot app there's a little switch you can turn on to "Use GPT-4".

Yes, that should definitely be turned on always! GPT-3.5 is much worse. Same switch exists in the Bing app here. Although it's very hard to find:

(no really, that's what the Bing app looks like on my iPhone, even after 10 reinstalls)

I’m being for real when I say it’s possible for a song like this to become at least a niche hit. “She Don’t Use Jelly”, by The Flaming Lips is enough generations forgotten. Gosh I love that fucking song.

  • I used this the other day to provide examples of classical music from a particular period that modulated from a particular key to another. It did pretty well with this and because western music theory is well documented and structural I think it'll do well with these kinds of questions.

I'll have to check that out. The way custom instructions are mostly ignored is infuriating. I also can't believe they haven't added (to the voice chat function) some way you can set how long the pause after you speak should be before the system interprets it as a sign that you are finished and it should reply. I fact, there are many aspects of UI/UX that strike me as very badly designed.

Copilot is basically the same as Bing Chat btw, people, it's just a rebranding.

LLMs are not designed to solve math problems, that’s not how they work… They are literaly autocomplete on supersteroids based on statistical data … That will be first major difference between current AI (and LLMs in particular) and AGI - AGI will be capable repeatedly solve all kinds of math problems with consistently same (correct) result

You can enable GPT-4 in Bing chat ?

Anyway i like UI of this app, works smoothly for me, it’s free, so don’t see reason to not use it

For sure! The UI of this app is identical to the Bing Chat app UI btw. I mean literally identical. I mentioned it because some people might be under the illusion that it is a new product.

Bing chat / Copilot is great. I think I will continue to pay for GPT+ as I really like the ability to have live voice conversations, though I am really not sure if that is worth $20 a month plus tax to me, so I am considering stopping that sub. The ability to search your chat history is another feature that jumps out as missing in Copilot or Bing, and which is genuinely extremely useful for me in GPT+. I’m sure there are plenty of other small differences. What you can do with Bing / Copilot for free is phenomenal, though.

It’s a pity Microsoft don’t give more options for the voice used by Bing / Copilot for text to speech, because it really isn’t anywhere near as good as something like the Cove voice in GPT+, which is outstandingly realistic.

Yes, actually I'm always nervous when I talk to the ChatGPT app because I'm afraid it will interrupt me with its answer before my question is finished 😄 they really need more sophisticated ways to detect when the voice input is finished. They're probably using something algorithmic right now -- they need to use AI for that.

I fact, there are many aspects of UI/UX that strike me as very badly designed.

Oh definitely. All customer-facing stuff has below-average UX there. It's not terrible but it's not good enough for being the face of such a world-changing product. I mean, even the (auto-)scrolling in the various chat apps / websites is a disaster and either doesn't work, works intermittently, or prevents you from reading the answer while it's being built because it keeps scrolling to the bottom even while you're frantically trying to scroll up. I mean this is really basic UX... if the user tries to scroll, STOP ANY AUTO-SCROLLING GODDAMMIT!!!

Has something changed? The voice chat was rolled out as free if you're using ChatGPT on their iOS or Android apps. I'm sure because I used it for free before I had GPT4 subscription. Used the GPT 3.5 engine.

Interesting. That was definitely a premium feature but I just checked and seems it is now available for free. I could really do with saving that 25 bucks a month so I guess I'll cancel the premium sub and give the free version a go. If lack of access to the service at peak times etc is too annoying I will sign up again. Thnx!

I'd be happier if all human and machine interactions were typed. 😂
